Should Government Benefits Be Denied to Illegal Immigrants?

Referring to the article explaining what circumstances and actions have been done to stop
providing illegal immigrants from receiving health and educational benefits, it is in my belief
that illegal immigrants should be given government benefits such as welfare and in-state tuition.
One reason why many people believe that illegal immigrants should not receive government
benefits is if they do not pay their share of taxes and thus should not be treated the same as other
people who do pay their share of taxes.
There are many reasons as to why I believe illegal immigrants should receive government
benefits: many illegal immigrants work in vegetable fields. This type of job is physically
exhausting and not many other citizens are willing to do the job. Because of the strenuous work,
many of the workers become injured and cannot continue to support their families. Working in
the fields requires that one is bent over for a majority of the time; it also entails lifting crates.
Workers are also exposed to the chemicals from the pesticides which can lead to health
problems.
If given health benefits, the workers are more likely to stay and provide the company the
labor that they need to fulfill their quotas. Workers will also be safer and have better health
circumstances. In my belief, there isnt any other job as hard as working in the fields; so to me,
illegal immigrants who work hard should be given citizenship and benefits the same. Also,
because many illegal immigrants pay taxes and pay their dues, they should be given benefits. An
advantage to supplying illegal immigrants with benefits would be: happier workers, more

workers, more reliability in labor conditions, and greater worker health conditions. The
companies that hire illegal immigrants to do the work that many other people would not want to
do would notice that their worker injuries and complaints slowly subside. Also, taxes would be
more susceptible to be paid.
Another advantage to giving illegal immigrants health benefits is that they are also given
educational benefits. Many illegal immigrants come to the United States in search of well-paying
jobs to support their families and offer them a better. This idea not only comes from the idea of
getting paid more and having a better life, but is also influenced by the American Dream idea
that has influenced many people to come to the United States to achieve their dreams. Because
many illegal immigrants have children who are too young to work in the fields or work in
general, they are sent to school to gain the education every deserves. This relieves parents of the
problem of sending their kids to be taken care of by someone else, which would undoubtedly
cost families more money that cannot always be spared. The children who are given an education
are less likely to resolve in violence and more likely to provide and be apart of the next working
generation. Also, they will more likely be able to give their children a better life and provide
their parents with the satisfaction of leading a better life.
The disadvantages to providing illegal immigrants with health and educational benefits
are: some companies cannot provide the right health benefits for their employees due to their
budgets, with the children of illegal immigrants attending school, many schools may have more
students than the capacity would allow (due to the amount of students per teacher). While many
companies make enough to provide their workers with the correct benefits, there are some that
cannot extend their budget enough to supply every one of their workers with health benefits due
to the plentiful amount of illegal immigrants. Also, because there is a surplus of immigrant

workers, many companies would be making less income than it would like to make, and thus
would not be growing like a business strives to do. Another disadvantage to not providing health
benefits to immigrants workers is that some will cease to pay taxes. Workers may also leave their
jobs in search of others that would provide them with health benefits-- if any at all. There will
also be more injuries, seeing as field workers are exposed to harsh UV rays from the sun over
long periods and back injuries by being bent over. There are also dangerous machines that many
workers would fall victim to. Also, when more immigrants find out that there are benefits, it is
more likely that many other immigrants will come to work and because of the huge amount of
people searching for jobs, it is possible that jobs would soon be filled.
Educational benefits may not be given seeing as many schools are being packed with
more students than they can handle. Seeing as states do receive funds for educational purposes,
there is a problem with the size of schools and the amount of staff needed. By not giving
educational benefits to immigrant families, immigrant children are more likely to resort to
violence and negatively influence crime rates. Also, they would be less likely to contribute to the
growth of the next generation of workers. Less motivation to do well in the educational category
can influence future jobs and even their children. Should the children not receive education, it is
less likely that they will be motivated to work hard; this can thus influence their children to not
contribute to their country. Education is the root of all growth, and should illegal (or legal)
immigrant children be denied their right to their education, they are left to their own outside
influences which, depending on where they live, could resort in violence and improper actions
that would give a more negative perspective to illegal immigrants and their acceptance by others.
States could prescribe laws that deal with immigrants by creating some that would
provide and protect their rights as workers and providers. They could set a list of qualifications

that companies must follow to provide their workers with the correct benefits depending on the
jobs. The federal government should owe states that have immigrant workers money enough to
keep and provide enough benefits to immigrant workers as needed. Many immigrants fight for
their right as workers to receive benefits and be treated like any other worker. This is seen as a
constitutional right and can be construed to protect people who provide and work in the United
States. Immigrant workers consider themselves applicable to the constitution because: they are
apart of the working force in the United States, they contribute to tax collections and other
financial responsibilities that citizens are given, and that the constitution is believed to be a vast
and interpreted in many ways; this is why government benefits can be interpreted to be construed
a Constitutional right. Differentiating beliefs is what stops the federal government from acting on
issues on immigration. There are many people who believe that illegal immigrants should not be
allowed into the UNited States, and those who are here would be deported. Republicans are more
likely to not agree with granting immigrants with health and educational benefits and citizenship.
A common belief is America for the Americans and that illegal immigrants are taking jobs that
should be given to citizens, thus creating anger that many citizens are not afraid to show.
I believe it is better as a whole to provide these health and education services so that we
do not stray from our humanity. Humans are susceptible to greed and gluttony but can also be
kind and respectful. Should we provide illegal immigrants with health benefits, we would take a
step forward to becoming a better society and country. Excluding hard working immigrants
because it is believed that they dont deserve it or arent Americans is in my opinion, wrong;
humans have always been greedy, and I believe that it is time what we step down and walk in
their shoes for a change. Though everyone has their differences, it is not right to entirely exclude
other humans from their right as workers. Health and educational benefits could make the

working world a better place and positively influence on future generations and decision making,
such as in the government.

Defanging a Nuclear Threat

Should I have been President at the time that nuclear weapons were no the rise in foreign
countries, I would seek a way to stop such advancements from happening. President Obama is
trying to find a way to stop them from having nuclear weapons because of past situations. Iran is
almost able to grasp nuclear weapons and have threatened to rid Israel from the map of the
world. They are also able to reach Western Europe and North America. It seems as if the United
States is the only country trying to stop or create a common ground with Iran.
Their nuclear weapons, though facing other places, have seem to only raise problems
with us. If I was President, I would seek help from other countries threatened by Irans nuclear
weapons. The United States has always had the belief that it was its sole responsibility to stop
any wars, rescue any people and become the hero; however, this always puts stress on its
government and economy. In my responsibility as President, I would ensure that we, as people of
wide nationalities, come together and show that we will all stand together when we are
threatened by an enemy.
Connection with other countries is hard to maintain because of the vast varying beliefs
that people have. The times when people come together the most, in my opinion, is either
because of a natural disaster, or a wide conflict that needs help. Though we do come together
during wars, that is because of the allies that have sworn to help when needed, but have we ever
conversed about not having wars? Why is it that even though we have advancements in
technology, we still lack the ability to come together and speak about our conflicts. It is believed
that through war and violence, peace is attainable; however I do not think so. As acting

President, I would not like to have the citizens of my country, or any for that matter, tearing at
each other's throats because higher officials tell them to. Do not merely misunderstand, I know
that isolationism does not work so well when coming to relationships with allies, but I do believe
that there is a limit to how much the United States can participate and or interfere in another
nations war.
Should I consider to not allow Iran to build up its nuclear weapons, then it is more likely
that they will continue to do so. The military is already far stretched due to its participation in
other places. Also, to make sure that I, as President, do not succumb to power greed and
emotions, would have my ideas run through Congress. I believe that most decisions should run
through Congress because if power lies in the hand of one person, then it is more likely to be
rash and filled with personal incentive.
The government of the United States should not wait for an aggressive attack from Iran
because that would include the loss of lives and potential war. Why wait until blood is shed to
stop someone. I understand that it may seem better that after an act of aggression has occurred
that the United States finally swoops in and stops the acts; however, why do we need to wait to
save the lives of people.
I would speak out to my allies and those threatened by Irans advancements of nuclear
weapons, and ask them to aid in the trial to stop more violence and war. I would seek peaceful
means though it would be hard considering that stopping violence with kindness is hard, but so is
fighting violence with violence. Communication is extremely important in our ability to run the
world peacefully, and the reason why we havent had peace yet is because we all seek our own
pleasures and beliefs. Everyone fights for their truth to be the only truth and I believe that that is
the first mistake. We forget to listen when we are yelling, when guns are blasting, and when we

seek power with corrupted minds. I would not like to be President. Ever. There are too many
beliefs that are always changing, there are always life threatening decisions to make, and I know
that I would not be able to be President because I do not support violence, nor do I endorse it.
There is no reason to resolve in violence. One reason why we do is because we no longer like to
hear other peoples beliefs and have an open mind to understand them.
