Lesson Plan Evaluation & Teaching Reflection
Was the content worth knowing? Support your response.
Yes, color has been part of the curriculum and was being taught that entire week.

Describe how the activity was developmentally appropriate.

We had been doing color identification activities all week, so one that was fun and Holiday-themed
seemed appropriate.
Give an example of how you know the activity was interesting to the children.
The children really enjoyed the fact that they were coloring presents since the holidays are right
around the corner and coloring to them in always a very fun experience, especially to the students
diagnosed with autism.
Describe how the activity included opportunities for the children to test their knowledge.
Since the children had to point out a color I would ask them, I assessed their knowledge while
working on the activity. Also, after telling me the color written, they would then have to pick the
correct marker to match
Describe a follow up activity that would build on concepts you have presented.
I feel like a color wheel where the kids would have to glue the name of the color would be very
beneficial.
What behavior(s) did you observe while presenting the activity? What do you think caused
the behavior(s)?
Most of the kids were very well behaved and did their work independently. One of my students
was having a rough day and was stimulating the entire time, but was corrected multiple times. All
other students worked efficiently.
How did you involve the children in the closure of the activity?
At the very end, I asked them what their favorite color was, and if it was on the sheet, I had them
point it out to me. All of them chose colors that were on the sheet and only one student picked the
wrong color.
Describe what changes you would make and what you would keep the same if you
presented the activity again.
I would have made the activity a little more in depth, or added on to it a small bit. The idea of the
color wheel did pass through my mind beforehand, but I did not have enough time to get all the
materials.
