Point system
Intypography, apointis the smallestunitof
measure, being a subdivision of the largerpica. It is
commonly abbreviated aspt.

Leading
Intypography,leadingrefers to the distance
between thebaselinesof successive lines of type
In consumer-oriented word processing software, this
concept is usually referred to as "line spacing" or
"interline spacing."

Kerning
Intypography,kerning(less commonlymortising) is
the process of adjusting the spacing between
characters in aproportional font, usually to achieve a
visually pleasing result.
Kerning adjusts the space between individual letter
forms, whiletracking(letter-spacing) adjusts spacing
uniformly over a range of characters.

Type setting technique


Manual- During much of theletterpress era,
movable type was composed by hand for
eachpage. Cast metalsortswere composited into
words and lines of text and tightly bound together
to make up a page image called aforme, with all
letter faces exactly the same height to form an
even surface of type. The forme was mounted in a
press, inked, and an impression made on paper.

Type setting technique


Hot metal type setting (Mechanical): this method
injects molten type metal into the mould that has
a shape of one or more glyphs

composing stick.
