Has any a summer experience, work, or study been of significance to you? Explain. My
job at Tournament R us has had a significant impact on me because before I got this
job I had horrible people skills and I got anger quick when people ask a lot of
questions. By the middle of the summer Id became more patient with the customers
and wasnt so quick to get angry. Another thing I learned how to do is make people
understand my authority. Since I work the door a lot of the parents think they can get
over on me because Im a child and I look younger than I am. Also they think since
theyre an adult that Im just gone sit there and let them talk to me any type of way
but they soon realized that wasnt going to happen. With this I learned to have
confidence within myself.
What do you consider to be your greatest strengths? Explain. Loyalty because once
youve become someone I care about faulted.

What do you consider to be your weaknesses? Explain. Procrastination because I wait

till the absolute last minute to do something most of the time.
Give 3 words that describe you. Include specific anecdotes / examples. Persistent
because when I set my mind to something I stick to it and I give it my all. Especially if
Im enjoying what Im doing.
Describe a minimum of 1 major setback or disappointment. Include how you either
overcame it or reacted to it. When I first got my job I use to spend my money very
quickly afterwards. Now after working for two years Ive learned to save my money. I
also learned not to spend money on mostly food. I now spend money on clothes and
shoes. Another outcome from it is that I was able to get all my school supplies plus
extra things I wanted this year.
Who or what has been the biggest influence on your life? Why? Please be original and
give a thorough explanation. Mr. Russell has had the biggest influence on my life. In
the beginning of my freshman year I was flunking everything except math basically. He
was my literature teacher my ninth grade year. His class was one of my lowest grade.
He encouraged me to get all my grades up in one semester. He also help me with some
of my personal problems, such as when my mom got sick. From him pushing me Ive
gave full effort in almost all my classes and when he noticed me getting off track hell
talk me back into getting back on track.
In one paragraph, describe why a college should choose you over another student.
What do you think you have to offer or how will you benefit?
I will add diversity to your school since I am a young African American women. I
plan to be very involve in school activities. Therefore I won,t be just another student
attending your school. I am a hard working student who will not flunk out. Within the
four years I will be attending your school you will help me define me as a person and
discover more to life. You will also be helping making connections with future
important people that can help me reach my goal. I hope youll help me on journey.
In one paragraph, explain why you should receive the scholarship and how this
organization / company will benefit from your receiving the money.
The money I will receive from this scholarship organization/ company will
benefit me because it will help support me financially to further my education. I
should receive their money because I am a hard worker and when I put my mind to do
something; which I have done with completing college; I will finish it no matter how

difficult it is. Meaning your money wont be a waste . You will be also be helping in
supporting a future doctor.
