Mr. Wayet Johnson
Corporate recruiting
John Deere Electronic Solutions
1441 44Th Street North
Fargo, ND 58105
Dear Mr. Johnson,
In May 2017 I will graduate for NDSU with a bachelors degree in electrical
engineering. I have learned a lot about testing circuits with voltmeters and
oscilloscopes. Also I know a lot about coding and have taken classes in C, C++, and
visual basics. I have worked everyone summer since freshman year of high school
and the past two summers I worked at a machine shop. This job has taught me a
lot of different things but the most relevant to electrical engineering is how to
program cnc HAAS machines, and how important tolerances are when making a lot
of parts. While I gained a lot of good experience as a machinist, an internship at
John Deere Electronic Solutions will help me to become fully immersed in an
engineering environment and learn more about circuit design and coding.
I have heard a lot about John Deere Electronic Solutions from friends and professors.
All of the interns who I have talked to who currently work there can only say positive
things about it and highly recommended me to apply for the internship. It sounds
like a good learning environment and a place where I could expand my knowledge
of electrical engineering.
I feel that I am a well-disciplined, highly motivated person with a strong desire to
excel in electrical engineering. I have taken circuits 1 and 2 so I can proficiently use
a voltmeter and oscilloscope. I have taken classes that would be very beneficial at
John Deere Electronic Solution such as electronics and embedded systems.
I understand that a resume and cover letter arent enough to determine a persons
motivation and qualifications. I hope that I can get a meeting with you to discuss all
of my credentials. If you would like to contact me please do not hesitate to call me
at (651)-283-2016. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

AJ Odenthal

Mrs. Carol Surface
Human resources officer
710 Medtronic Parkway
Minneapolis, MN 55432
To Mrs. Surface:
I am an experienced computer programmer and circuit designer who is presently
pursing a bachelors degree in electrical engineering at North Dakota State
University. I am a highly skilled electrical engineer and have attached my resume
for your consideration.
So far I have not had much experience with electrical engineering, but my past work
experience can relate very closely to an electrical engineering environment. For the
past two summers, I have worked at a machine shop making very precise
measurements. I have seen and used a lot of CNC coding and have grasped the
basics of it. I have worked with groups and by myself looking over code and trying
to shorten operations which will save the company money. There have been a lot of
big projects that I have been a part of such as making 1000 parts for 3M. In my
circuits 1 and 2 labs we have extensively used multi-meters and oscilloscopes. I
have completed courses in C++ and visual basics and learned a lot of computer
programming knowledge from them.
Medtronic is a huge cooperation and have a lot of different products that save lives
daily. I would love to be a part of this healing process. You are in over 50 countries
and in the past three years have reduced your health care admissions by 20
percent. This means you can impact many lives all over the world.
I would be grateful if I get the opportunity to meet you for an interview session. If
you need more information about me please do not hesitate to call me at (651)-2832016. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

AJ Odenthal
