Throughout PSI
practicum

Goal #1
To differentiate my teaching to include all ranges of student ability.
My class has students with a wide range of prior knowledge, skills and
abilities. In order to create an atmosphere where all students can learn I will
have to use a great amount of differentiation in all of my lessons.

Indicator(s) of Success

All students will understand all tasks given and feel confident and capable of doing them
Tasks will have a wide range of success that is encouraged, accommodating all levels of
ability
Students will feel adequately challenged in all tasks
Students will be motivated and engaged

Action
Use spoken word as my main method
of transferring information, written
methods being used only as a
supplement.
Review data collected from my
assessments to gauge how effective
my lessons are.
Learn more about each students
learning needs and consider all
students when planning lessons.
Students should view all tasks as
something they are capable of doing.
Create tasks that provide opportunities
for students to take them much
further, with motivation to do so.

Goal #2
To take initiative in my position of authority in the school.
In my ED2500 practicum I struggled to take initiative in correcting behavior,
assisting with student direction, and in other areas. In order to earn the
respect of my students and of my TA I want to work on being less hesitant in
the classroom.

Indicator(s) of Success

My TA will have confidence in my judgement on when and how to engage in a situation

Students will see me on the same level as the other teaching staff

Action
Be confident in my judgement of when
I need to step into a situation, not
waiting for my TA to act first.
Ask for input from my TA; compare
how I respond to situations to how she
does and examine what my personal
beliefs are and where I need to shift
my automatic responses.
Develop a healthy relationship with my
students, not having a focus on being
their friend. Talk to every student
individually.
Note: find ways to get to know my
students individually while maintaining
this boundary.
Familiarize myself with school policies
by reading the Safe and Caring
Policy and by actively observing how
other teaching act in specific
situations.

Resource(s)

Timeline

then should develop into
a habit through the
