PROCEDURE
Introduction: 2 min
Hook/Attention Grabber: We are going to continue skip counting!
Assessment of Prior Knowledge: What is the number we skip counted by last class?
Agenda: Skip counting song, Presentation & finding patterns, Math task, Skip Counting Maze
Transition to Body: Not needed

Body: 40 min
Learning Activity #1: Skip Counting Song

Students sing along with the song to remind them about skip counting by 4s.
Learning Activity #2: Presentation & Finding Patterns
Students will present the chart they made last week to the class. Then, as a class, using the number from the last activity, we
can write out a certain amount of number on the board (approximately 2~3 patterns), write out all the numbers in the 1s
place. Then, ask students whether or not they see any patterns. If so, what are the patterns? Then, we will write the patterns
out, and move on to the next activity.
Learning Activity #3: Math Task
Each student will receive a handout. This short math task is made for students to practice skip counting both forward and
backwards by 4s.
Learning Activity #4: Skip Counting by 4sMaze
For students that are done early, they are able to pick up a skip counting maze handout from me, and work on the activity.

Closure: 3 min
Consolidation/ Assessment of Learning: Formatively assess through observation during mini lecture. Will have
understanding through interview/conversation
Feedback from Students: Gave students the opportunity to ask questions
Feedback to Students: Answer any question they may have.
Transition to Next Lesson: Continue with skip counting by 4s.
