SESSIONS
Starting on January 3, all program sessions will grow from 6 weeks to 8 weeks long. So what
does this mean? That means youll have two extra TRX classes per session, two more hours
of Spinning, two more chances to try our new Barre program, and much more all for the
same price or less than our previous 6-week sessions. You read that correctly. Were actually
lowering the member program pricing AND extending the program sessions. Theres never
been a better time to sign up for one of our great fitness programs at the Dow Bay Area YMCA.

PORPOISE
This is the final level of YMCA swim lessons and is for swimmers able to
swim 200 yards of front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and 50
yards of over arm sidestroke. This club of swimmers focuses on improving
water rescue and stroke mechanics.

SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING
Synchronized Swimming combines the strength of swimming with the grace
of dance. The program, available for ages 7 and up, focuses on synchronizing
your ballet legs, lifts, and dances to music in the water. Synchronized swimming
is available as a beginner class for those interested in learning the sport, as
well as a middle school and high school team for those interested in taking it
to the next level with competition and performance.

WATERWORKS
Waterworks is a low-impact workout that is fun, challenging, and effective.
It gives you the benefits of both aerobic exercise and strength training.
This class utilizes dumbbells, kick boards, and is taught in the Exercise Pool.

AQUATIC EXERCISE
AI CHI
Ai Chi is an efficient exercise program that increases oxygen and caloric
consumption simply with correct form and positioning in the water. Its is
a perfect relaxation technique and is ideal for creating improved range of
motion, balance, and mobility. Ai Chi was created by combining Tai-Chi
concepts with Shiatsu and QiGong techniques, and is performed standing
in shoulder depth water using a combination of deep breathing and slow,
broad movements of the arms, legs, and torso.

AQUA ZUMBA
This is the aqua fitness program everyone has been waiting for, and its
not your grandmothers water workout! Zumba has taken over the aerobic
industry, and now its made its way to the pool. Aqua Zumba is a fun and

Adult swim classes are for any skill level. An emphasis will be placed on
water safety, especially in the beginner level. Classes are tailored to what
each individual would like to achieve. One-on-one time with the instructor

SENIOR SPLASH
Senior Splash provides a gentle, low impact workout that is challenging
and effective, giving you the benefits of both aerobic exercise and strength
training. The program is perfect for those who are older, overweight, or have
medical concerns such as arthritis or osteoporosis.

In this class, the children will learn the basics of different styles of dance

BARRE IS HERE!
Barre is designed to sculpt your body through a series of movements
that strengthens the entire body to ensure that no muscle is
overlooked. By utilizing a combination of functional strength, dance,
pilates, and yoga, your body weight is used for resistance to focus
on alignment and optimal posture while enhancing body awareness,
coordination, balance and overall strength.

Receive a full body fitness assessment from one of our personal trainers!
Assessments include blood pressure, height, weight, waist and hip

CORRECTIVE EXERCISE TRAINING
Try out our training program based on the principles of corrective
exercise. This type of program is geared to help individuals suffering
from low back pain, knee pain, or other forms of regular discomfort by
focusing on muscle lengthening and strengthening exercises. Nathan
Goddard, our Health and Wellness Director, has a masters degree
specializing in Rehabilitation Strategies and is also a Corrective Exercise
Specialist. Once you sign up for the program, he will contact you to
set up a day and time for your initial assessment. Following your initial
assessment, you will have 5 one-on-one workout sessions together to
address your specific needs for a total of 6 sessions.

OPEN PICKLEBALL
Take part in the newest sport to hit the Y! Open Pickleball is
available during the week to members for free, and non members
for $3. Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am -1:00 pm.
TUMBLING CLINIC
In this clinic students will be taught fun and exciting games and drills
that will improve their balance and coordination. This clinic is designed to
build their skills required to be an athlete, making it perfect for both girls
and boys. This session will take place in the Community Room.

YBA BASKETBALL CLINIC (9-12 YEAR OLDS)
This basketball clinic will help participants fine tune their fundamental
skills. Instructors will teach the correct shooting form and technique and
will use productive drills for dribbling, defense, passing and rebounding.

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE WINTER
Bring your team and compete in the Ys Adult basketball league.
This league consists of an 8 week season with a post season
tournament and multiple divisions (based on teams skill level and

SLIDE-IN MOVIE
Put a new twist on family movie night and join us in the pool for our
Slide-In Movies. Watch a movie while floating down the lazy river or relax
in the leisure pool. Be sure to walk the red carpet and slide into the
pool via our water slide prior to the movie beginning. Please bring your
own small float. Pool party begins at 6:30pm and the movie begins at
approximately 7:00 pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

SNOW DAYS AT THE Y
When school is cancelled due to inclement weather, the Y has a place
for your children. Parents can relax and the kids can enjoy snow days off

snack, swim suit, and towel.

A fun place for your child to unwind after school. Many activities are

The Dow Bay Area Family YMCA is thrilled to be offering
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
programming for kids ages 4-14. The classes are
designed and taught by Engineering For Kids,
a nationwide organization that offers a suite of programs
for children ages 4 to 14 introducing them to science,
technology, engineering and math through a variety of
