Syrian Refugee Situation in the

United States

13 million Syrians are currently in need of assistance

4.3 million Syrians are refugees globally

Since the Syrian Civil War began, over 320,000 people

have been killed, 12,000 of which are children; hence
why so many people are leaving their countries
seeking refuge in others.

President Obama has authorized at least 10,000

refugees to enter the United States.

In the wake of the Paris and California terrorist attacks,

many Americans are apprehensive to allow any of
these people enter the U.S. for fear of further terrorism

31 states have refused to allow any refugees settle in

their states.

Current Political regime

Barack Obama is a progressive Democrat who leans

considerably left and slightly authoritarian on his political
views

This means that his ideas on social welfare are left in

nature, and he feels as if the government, not private
companies should deal with the issue of immigration to
the U.S.

As a result, Obama has actually deported more people

than any other president.

More people are deported from the United States currently

than are illegally immigrating in, which means that there
is actually a plan already in place, although some on the
right do not agree that there is enough there.

2016 Presidential Debates

Immigration has been a very hot issue on the campaign

trail, especially as of late.

The extreme fear in many Americans hearts has forced the

entire political continuum (horizontal line) to shift more
towards the right.

The right side of the continuum is for stricter military power,

strength through force, beefing border security, etc.

The most notorious proponent of extremely harsh border

security is Donald Trump.

The polar opposite to his side is Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose

stance is that the United States on almost all fronts, should
adopt a more European Union style of government,
including fluid borders.
