AGCO Intivity Center
202 Industrial Park
Jackson, MN 56143
Dear AGCO Recruiter:
I am applying for the Manufacturing Engineering Technician II position that was
posted on AGCOs career website. Both knowledge I have gained in manufacturing
processes and strong problem solving skills make me qualified for this position.
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II position requires at least a 2-year
degree. Im currently in the process of obtaining a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. The
main reason Im applying for this position is that I believe I can resolve the problems
and issues that come with AGCOs expansion and growth. To give credit to these
skills, during a large school project, 2 of 5 group members left 2 weeks before the
due date. Quite the problem, but we were able to complete the project while
maintaining good quality. During my past employment as a Safety Specialist Intern,
I also had a variety of problems I was assigned to fix. Most notably, I redesigned the
layout, contents, and standard procedure for the shop spill kits.
For more technical knowledge, I have both hands on and in class experience. The
hands on involved the design and execution of a process to manufacture a specific
work piece for a course project. My classroom knowledge spans all areas in
manufacturing. Coursework on supply chains has taught me the complexity of this
area and tools to manage the flow of materials. I also have developed strong
instructional writing skills through my technical writing course. This included two
projects with international student partners working on translation of technical
instructions.
This position requires skills and knowledge that I have developed from my education
and work experience, giving me confidence in my abilities to meet and exceed your
expectations. I have also submitted my resume for your consideration and I look
forward to an opportunity to discuss them with you in person. Please feel free to
contact me at 651.328.3584 or Daniel.johnson.4@ndsu.edu to schedule an
interview. Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely,
Daniel P. Johnson

Loram Maintenance of Way

3900 Arrowhead Dr.
Hamel, MN 55340
Dear Mark Mckee:
I am applying for the Manufacturing Project Engineering Intern position that was
posted on Lorams career website. Both knowledge I have gained in manufacturing
processes and through my Safety Specialist Internship make me qualified for the
position.
The Manufacturing Project Engineering Intern position requires a B.S. degree in a
field of engineering. Im currently in the process of obtaining a B.S. in Industrial
Engineering. After working as the Safety Specialist Intern last summer, I became
intrigued in another internship position in the manufacturing department. The
reasoning for this is that I enjoyed my time at Loram, but I also have the capabilities
to succeed in the position. My previous internship taught me the inner workings of
the company. In addition to that, I was able to work with members of the quality
department on the daily Material Review Board meetings. Along with that, I used my
problem solving skills to complete or nearly complete 7 projects assigned to me.
For more technical knowledge, I have both hands on and in class experience. The
hands on involved a reverse engineering project which built my knowledge of both
CAD design and team collaboration. My classroom knowledge spans all areas in
manufacturing from general operations to specific process or task design. I also
have developed strong technical and instructional writing skills through a technical
writing course. This included two projects with international student partners
working on translation of technical instructions.
I am excited for another opportunity to work at Loram, and my skills and knowledge
will definitely allow me to succeed and exceed expectations in the position. I have
also submitted my resume for your consideration and I look forward to an
opportunity to discuss them with you in person. Please feel free to contact me at
651.328.3584 or Daniel.johnson.4@ndsu.edu to schedule an interview. Thank you
for your consideration, I look forward to meeting with you!
Sincerely,

Daniel P. Johnson
