DESCRIPTION
Line- The Artist used line in a various different ways. The way that caught my
eye first is the giant shape all the other shapes crate when connected. The
artist used the line path in a triangle and rectangle shape.
Shape- The shape that caught my eye first was the unrealistic girl in the middle
of the painting. Surrounding her was a variety of simple shapes connected
together, creating a larger shape. There were mostly very simple, tiny squares.
The rest of the shapes were a variety of very vintage like, floral flowers.
Form-The background are the colorful shapes and the girl in the middle looks
like she's dancing in front of the shapes in the back, creating a 3 dimensional
look to the piece of work.
Space- The art and detail took up all the space ,the flowers all around and the
tiny squares and random squiggly lines make that up.
Texture- It looks very smooth, but the shapes on the painting seem like they
add quite a bit of rough texture.
Value- The artist used all different shades of purples, blues, and variety of
oranges and greens (pastel and normal).
Color- The artist used many different shades of almost every color in her
patterns. Colors such as; green, red, orange, blue, purple, yellow ,and pink.

ANALYSIS
Balance- All the elements in the art are arranged in a way that puts a happy
vibe in the artwork. It has a good balance of shape and color. The artist used
bright colors and simple shapes together. All the colors pop out , due to the
simple squares (the shapes dont draw attention from the brightest of the work).
Emphasis- The girl in the middle stands out the most.
Contrast- The way the shapes go together in harmony creates a pattern that
sets the subject of the piece of work.
Rhythm- All the shapes and colors go along setting the specific mood in this
piece.
Pattern- The diamond colors are symmetrical.
Unity- All the elements work together to create a colorful and joyful piece of art.
The art is joyful, and the colors and shapes set that mood.

WHAT I SEE
In this piece of art, I see a lot of colors and value. All the shapes and
colors agree, creating a joyful and positive piece of art. It looks
very exotic-like. Like a African vibe. The woman is dancing in a
colorful environment and it seems really positive.
This piece of art has many shapes and values of simple colors. The
woman's dress stands out with its bright red and flowers covering
the piece. Overall its a very energetic piece of work.

INTERPRETATION
I see a woman dancing in the middle of everything. This piece of work could mean a
variety of things. What I saw was a form of confidence of culture and inner beauty. This
piece of work reminded me of African cultures. The woman in the middle looked like
she was dancing a native dance, but happily. The colors reminded me of joy and
confidence. Since its a woman and the artist was known for making various feminist
pieces of works, though the woman was confidence with herself and her culture.

EVALUATION
The painting Personal Appearance looked like it was painted
almost recently. It also seemed like it was a cultural painting
and represented ones pride in their country or culture. I also
think the painting was painted in Africa. Pride an happiness
stands out in this piece or work.
