1. Demonstrate an understanding of addition of numbers with answers to 20 and
their corresponding subtraction facts, concretely, pictorially and symbolically,
by:
using familiar mathematical language to describe additive and subtractive

using a variety of concrete and visual representations, and recording the
process symbolically.

Students will be beckoned to the front of the class
1) Using a small container that will hold less than 20
counters, have the students estimate the amount of
counters required to fill the container.
2) Fill with 5 counters, see if their estimates change
3) Find out the full number
