PROCEDURE
Introduction: 5 min
Hook/Attention Grabber: We are going to continue skip counting!
Assessment of Prior Knowledge: Who remembers what number we skip counted by yesterday?
Agenda: Slides, Quarter counting, Worksheet
Transition to Body: Not needed

Body: 50 min
Learning Activity #1: Review, Go through Power Point Slides
Review from yesterday. Picked out a few slides from yesterdays lesson, and quickly go over them.
Learning Activity #2: Number Line
As a class, we will create a number line together. This can be a very useful tool for students to use for the following
activities.
Learning Activity #3: Quarters Counting
Continue from yesterday. Go over all the rules before we start.
Rules
1. Listen very carefully to Miss Wangs instructions before starting.
2. When Miss Wang says GO, you will be able to begin.
3. Take Out the Quarter Sheet that was handed out yesterday.
4. Miss Wang will assign 1 group to the scissors at a time.
5. Cut out all of the Quarters.
6. When you are done, stay in your sit and quietly put up your hand.
7. You will be handed with a card.
8. On the card, there will be a number on both sides. This will be the total amount of money that you are going to make with the
quarters you cut out.
9. When you finish, quietly put your hand up again, Miss Stapleton and Miss Wang will quickly check.
10. You will then get a new card if you did it correctly.
The index cards include:
75 cents, 150 cents, 200 cents, 275 cents, 325 cents, 350 cents, 425 cents, 450 cents, 525 cents, 575 cents, 600 cents, 675 cents, 750 cents,
825 cents, 875 cents, 900 cents, 950 cents, how many cents do you have in total?

Learning Activity #4: Hand Out Work Sheets (might not get to this part)
Go over some examples of the work sheet on the power point slides.
1. Count the money.
2. Fill in the blank.
3. Solve the problem.

Closure: 5 min
Consolidation/ Assessment of Learning: Formatively assess through observation during mini review lecture, and work with
quarters. Evidence for assessment will be done with the worksheet. Will have understanding through interview/conversation
Feedback from Students: Gave students the opportunity to ask questions
Feedback to Students: Answer any question they may have.
Transition to Next Lesson: Skip counting by 4s and 3s
