An overview System curve equation (as a function of flow) for single

outlet system (one discharge line) is given below:

Head Loss

whereby is friction head

is equipment head

is velocity head

is Total Static head

The System curve is superimposed on the Pump Head curve and the
intersecting point is the Operating Point of the particular system.

It indicates the Total Head required from the pump to establish the
required flow (capacity) at the Operating point.
