Air Pollution and Environment.
Bernard, Susan M. et al. The Potential Impacts of Climate Variability and Change on Air PollutionRelated Health Effects in the United States. Environmental Health Perspectives Supplements
May 2001:199-209. Print.
Bernard is seeing that the climate have changes that may affect weather, anthropogenic
emissions, and biogenic emissions and by changing the distribution and types of airborne
allergens. Our local temperature, precipitation, clouds, atmospheric water vapor, wind speed, and
wind direction influence atmospheric chemical processes, and interactions occur between local
and global-scale environments. He said that if the climate becomes warmer and more variable to
the air quality by affecting it. There is already extensive evidence on the health effects of air
pollution is growing. Ground-level ozone can exacerbate chronic respiratory diseases and cause
short-term reductions in lung function. Exposure to particulate matter can aggravate chronic
respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, alter host defenses, damage lung tissue, lead to
premature death, and possibly contribute to cancer Health effects of exposures to carbon
monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide can include reduced work capacity, aggravation
of existing cardiovascular diseases, effects on pulmonary function, respiratory illnesses, lung
irritation, and alterations in the lung's defense systems. This is why we have to investigate to be
aware of what is causing harm in our society.

Cohen, Devra R. Forever evergreen: Amending the Washington state constitution for a healthy
environment. Washington Review Law 90.1 (2015): 349-404. Ebsco.
Cohen is trying to amend how Washington State Constitution protect the navigable waters, their
shores and tidelands. This way the State pollution poses an ongoing threat to the health and
welfare of the citizens. Because for the present and future citizens we have to give them a
healthy environment. Amending the Washington State Constitution includes an extended public
trust doctrine that provides broad environmental protection and incorporates an affirmative right
to a healthy environment will add a layer of environmental protection and provide the impetus
for politically difficult environmental action. This will help the state to be a better place to live.

Sierra-Vargas and Respirology Society are observing how air pollution as become a major health
problem that affects millions of people worldwide. In support of this observation, the World
Health Organization estimates that every year, 2.4 million people die because of the effects of air
pollution on health. Mitigation strategies such as changes in diesel engine technology could
result in fewer premature mortalities, as suggested by the US Environmental Protection Agency.
This observation discusses: the impact of air pollution on respiratory disease; provides evidence
that reducing air pollution may have a positive impact on the prevention of disease; and
demonstrates the impact concerted polices may have on population health when governments
take actions to reduce air pollution. Impact and prevention is a way to figurate out why air
pollution is a huge problem in the environment.

ThankYouOcean. Californias Thank You Ocean Campaign. 2004. Web. 23 November 2015.
The Californias Thank You Ocean Campaign is a nonprofit partnership supported by the State of
California, the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and the Ocean Communicators
Alliance. The campaign mission is to unite voices and amplify messages to raise ocean
awareness and promote everyday actions that protect the ocean. The campaign features an
inspiring public service announcement (PSA) produced by world-renowned cinematographer,
Bob Talbot, and a Dont Trash the Beach PSA featuring actor and activist, Edward James
Olmos, an out-of-door advertising campaign, an extensive toolkit for the California Ocean
Communicators Alliance, a bi-weekly podcast series featuring leaders in ocean policy, and this
Web site. The campaign is focused on educating the public about the importance of sustaining
ocean life and inspiring Californians to practice ocean stewardship to alleviate four major threats
to the ocean: Climate Change, Marine Debris ,Japan Tsunami Marine Debris, Water Pollution,
Risks to Marine Life, Solution: Marine Protected Areas. This help my resource to make a change
in the world by protecting the environment.

Wilcox, Christie. There are now five trillion pieces of plastic floating in an ocean near you. Popular
Science June 2015: 32-33. Print.
This article discusses the global ocean plastic pollution and the model projecting potential points
of origin the world-over. The topics include 300,000 tons of plastic swirling near the surface of
the seas. The University of Georgia environmental engineer Jenna Jambeck and colleagues
assembling a model that shows potential points of origin. They are trying to see how they do to
help solve this plastic floating on the ocean.
