The social event that I went to was the capture the flag event during the beginning of the
school year. Capture the flag was an event that the dancer and bender halls put on so that the
students could have time and chances to meet up with some new people and get to know people.
The event went on for a while and was very fun. I went to the event to meet new people and met
a really good friend of mine named, Reggie. What surprised me was how much fun I was having
running in the dark with glow sticks. I was not surprised by the cheating that went on and how
unorganized the event was. I liked that the play was casual and that the students were not getting
too competitive and letting the social event get ruined. What I did not like was the fact that the
cheating and such was allowed to persist. The cheating kind of ruined the game for everyone. I
would not go back to particular event because of the cheating. The people were great, but I just
cannot stand cheating.
The event is a great way to meet and get to know your fellow hall mates. The event can
get very annoying at times, but that is part of the competitiveness of the students. The music was
great and the food provided was excellent. If you can get past the cheating then I would
recommend this event.
