Assignment: water uses and importance in the life


(Individual Assignment- out of 20)

Introduction:
This is a step-by-step assignment that you will do it in specific sequence. It is
divided in three parts.

The first part (describe the water uses):


In the first part, you will be asked to record the uses of water in your personal
life, agriculture, industry and house's settings. The purpose of this part is to
make you realize how the water is important in different domains of life.
Here you will fill a table of your personal water uses. Also, you will create a
visual statics presentation, -which mean: (presenting numbers) -, for
agricultural, industrial and house settings of water
Instructions:
Follow these steps to complete this part:
1) Print the below table or keep it in your device. (You can add more rows to your table
based on numbers of activities

2) Record every activity where you use the water and how many times you do this,
according to the table.
3) Keep recording for two days as shown in the table.
4) Save the table as word or pdf file.
5) Choose the one of the following domains (industry, agriculture or house's settings) to
search for the statics of water uses in.
6) If you choose the industry domain then, search for an authentic statics -which mean:
(real numbers) - of water using in industry in your country. You can navigate the
officer website of the responsible ministry or institution and contact them.
Example: Navigate the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Oman website and
search for the statics or contact with them to get it https://www.moci.gov.om/.
7) If you choose the agriculture domain then, Search for an authentic statics -which
mean: (real numbers) - of water using in agriculture in your country. You can navigate
the officer website of the responsible ministry or institution and contact them.
Example: Navigate the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of Oman website and
search for the statics or contact with them to get it http://www.maf.gov.om.
8) If you choose the house's settings domain then, Search for an authentic statics -which
mean: (real numbers) - of houses water using in your country. You can navigate the
officer website of the responsible ministry or institution and contact them.
Example: Navigate the Public Authority for Electricity and Water of Oman website
and search for the statics or contact with them to get it www.paew.gov.om/.
9) After collecting the statistical data of water uses in industry, agriculture and home
using, find the best way to represent them visually.
10) Develop a visual presentation using charts or graphics in PowerPoint program or your
own drawing to represent the collected data.
11) Write all references (websites, books, journals etc) that you use.
12) Save the table file as a word or pdf file in the following manner:
(YourNamePersonalWaterUsing.File Type). Example:
SafyiaAlsaadiPersonalWaterUsing.pdf.
13) Save the visual presentation of the statistical data of water uses in the following
manner: (YourNameVisualPresentation. File Type). Example:
SafyiaAlsaadiVisualPresentation.png.

14) Create a file include your table file and visual presentation file, then name it in the
following manner: (YourNameFirstAssessmentPart). Example:
SafyiaAlsaadiFirstAssessmentPart.
15) Submit the file through in the submission option. The due date of submission is: 22
November 2015.

The second part (Argue about the domain that you chose):
In the second part, you will argue your peers in the course about the importance
of water through a communication forum. This part will help you to organize
and insure your opinions of the water importance that you have already
demonstrated it from the first part.
Instructions:
Follow these steps to complete this part:
1) Navigate the communication forum that the instructor created for the debate.
2) Find the group that you share the same point of view with them and involve
yourself in that group.
3) Contact with your group to organize the ideas of debate arguments.
4) Start to debate the other groups that you against with them.
5) The due date of the debate is: 22 November 2015.

The third part (Think of conserving water strategies):


In the third part, you will think of authentic strategies which mean: (strategies that can be applied in your life) - to conserve water in your
personal life and house's settings. Your strategies should allow to be applied
in your life. You will write a description of your strategies.
Instructions:
Follow these steps to complete this part:
1) Think about conserving water strategies that you can apply in your personal
life. You can use any reference that may help you.
2) Write a clear description of your ideas. Your description must include each
strategy as separate a point (Put each strategy in a separate paragraph).
3) For each strategy, you must answer the below questions:

Where the strategy will be applied (in the kitchen, toilet, dining room,
etc.)?

How you will apply it?

How it will be useful?

4) Write all references (websites, books, journals etc) that you use.
5) Save your description in word or pdf file in the following manner:
(YourNameThirdAssessmentPart). Example:
SafyiaAlsaadiTirstAssessmentPart.
6) Submit the file through in the submission option. The due date of
submission is: 22 November 2015.
