Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to;
i)M- Read and understand 6/6 sentences from the short texts.
ii)L - Read and understand 3/6 sentences from the Bubble Map.
Time
: 60 minutes.
Teaching aids : Hand out, Task sheets, Bubble Map.
CCE/EE
: Multiple Intelligence, Contextualism.

STEPS : Pre-Reading

1.Show the power point slides featuring pictures of

needs and wants.
2.Ask pupils to look carefully at the pictures.
3.Define the words needs and wants to the
pupils( Textbook Page 15)
4.Put the word cards on the board and ask LINUS
pupils to match the pictures to the categories.

While- Reading :
5.Show the power point slides on How Can I
Save Money?
6.Read aloud the Bubble Map with the
pupils.
7.Read in pairs.
8. M- Give short texts and ask pupils to
differentiate between needs and wants.
9. L - Read 6 sentences on the Bubble Map
with guidance.

Post -Reading :
10.Distribute blank Bubble Map.
11.Individually, pupils fill in the Bubble Map.
12.Pupils write simple reason/reasons for
the choice taken.
