Halloween is thought to have


originated in Ancient Ireland as a
celebration to mark the end of
Summer and the beginning of Winter.
This celebration involved paying
homage to the dead.
Irish immigrants introduced it to North
America in the 1800s.

Mexico

the 31st of October and continues until the
2nd of November.
It is a tradition to make Altars to encourage
spirits to come home. The graves of loved
ones are also decorated.
The Mexican traditions are designed to

November.
All soul's day is on the 2nd of November and
Catholics attend special Requiem Masses to
honour those who have died. Candles are lit
to honour the dead.
