) Start iSeries Navigator


2.) Expand Management Central
3.) Expand Monitors
4.) Select System using right mouse button
5.) Select New Monitor

A.) Give it a name and description to suit your fancy
B.) Chose Metrics tab
C.) Choose what "metric"s you want to monitor - in this
case you want 'CPU Utilization (Interactive Feature)' and
select Add - the item should now be in the box to the
right.
D.) Select what collection interval, etc you want - I
use the default.
E.) By selecting Threshold1 tab you can set thresholds
and what actions to take when those thresholds occur such as sending a break message to the console or whatever.
F.) Select 'Ok' - the monitor you just created should
appear in right pane.
G.) Double click the monitor and a new screen will come
up
H.) Toolbar will have a green arrow on it - fourth from
the left. Select it
I.) One minute later you should see the charts to get
updated - select the points and a chart on the right
shows what jobs are taking up in relation to one another
J.) Use the info on the right to find out who is taking
up the system....
