Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIT Agartala is one of the largest Department of the
Institute is known for its quality and dedication towards teaching and research. The recognition
of its quality may be accessed with the fact that, This Departments UG Course is accreditated
for 5 years in 2012. The Department started its journey in 1965 with an intake of 20 students
present intake of the Department is near to 100. Thirty numbers of dedicated and well qualified
Professors, Associate Professor and Assistant Professors are serving the Department with their
continuous effort to take the Department to newer heights. With time as the Department has
expanded in every respect, a proper documentation and maintaining of the same in a
convenient manner has become a primary need for long. At the same time as many of the
faculties are also involved with various responsibilities of the Institute & Department and they
need a very safe place to properly keep their confidential and important documents. In this
regard Personal Locker Units (PLU) may be very useful to keep documents of individual
faculty members in a safe manner.
At the same time it has been observed that, many important postal deliveries often remain
undelivered as faculties remain busy in their official duties in different parts of the Institute.
Therefore, if the PLU is provided with facility to drop letters in to that, then its effectiveness
will be more. In this regard the undersigned has contacted with the suppliers of Godrej, who
are known for their premium quality products. The Godrej Authority is ready to supply the
units with the letter drop facility but the Godrej Authority wants a written document from the
Institute side mentioning that, Godrej Authority will not be responsible for any sort of future
damage in the Supplied material as they are tampering the Actual Product (which is against
their company rules) on our request as per our requirement.
