Animals and Plants in their environment

TASK: - Design and create a postage stamp that represents the


theme Animals and Plants in their environment. See weebly
for the competition details. The postage stamp must be A4 size
and all drawing and painting techniques can be used (water
colour, coloured crayons, acrylic paint, collage etc.) You need
to research the subject in and around Luxembourg.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
Produce a mind map in IWB listing ideas.
You must produce a minimum of 2 A3 pages of visual
and written research into the topic including drawings,
photographs, magazine cuttings etc.
Produce 4 initial ideas/sketches thinking about
composition: - using the elements colour, size and
shape (overlapping.)
You must use a Monochromatic, Analogous or
Complimentary colour scheme.
You must explore ideas using the research obtained.
You must choose an appropriate material and you
should be consistent in its use to create unity.
Your design must have an area of emphasis
The elements used in the design must be balanced.
Designs must reflect the topic, with an obvious
connection to Animals and Plants in their
environment.
You must annotate designs with personal, and/or peer
and teacher response.
You must produce 1 final design with all details
included and correct.

SUCCESS CRITERIA FOR CRITICAL ANALYSIS


You must include a photograph of your final idea in
your Journal.
Describe two areas or parts of your project that you
think you did well. Explain why.
Describe one area of the project you wish you could
have improved upon and explain how and why.
Class Critique discussion of final pieces judging the
work professionally.
