Project Proposal and Timeline

Recently, Dankmeyer has purchased a large flat screen television to install in their waiting area
for patients to look at. My project will be to research information and design the slides that will be
projected on this screen. My intended audience will be the patients sitting in the waiting room, waiting
for their appointment, or the individual who accompanied the patient to their appointment. I will be
making several types of slides, which serve a variety of purposes. For example, I will be making slides
to remind patients of when the office will next be closed
(see example). Additionally, I will be making slides with
self-check tips and other informational facts that may
help patients be more aware of what they should be
looking out for. Other categories include additional inner
office issues/patient reminders, diagnosis definitions and
interesting facts about them (educational slides), credited support groups along with their locations and
contact information, meet the staff profiles, did you know interesting facts, and inspirational quotes
relating to amputees. Also to boost morale, I will be
including famous amputee profiles to highlight those
who made a great impact even though they are
missing a limb. Dankmeyer will be continuing this
project even after I am done with my internship; I am
establishing their main collection of displays. This
help Dankmeyer acquire a larger amount of slides in a shorter amount of time because it does not take
a regular employees time away from their work. My project supervisor, Nancy Lee, approves all of my
designs and uploads them into a system and assigns the amount of time they will run for. Through the
end of my internship, I will work on the slides during my internship when we have downtime in between
patients. Mrs. Reedy has instructed me to not work on them at home, as she does not want to put too
much on my plate with my course load and college applications, as well as ensuring I always have
something to work on.
