LOCATION
The Lotus Temple is a 25-minute drive south of downtown New Delhi.
It is easily accessible by metro (Kalkaji metro station) just a short walk from
the temples entrance. Public buses and trains also stop nearby.
Open -Tuesday to Sunday, and admission is free.

ARCHITECT
Mr. Fariburz Sabha, a Canadian architect and a
Bah' follower of Iranian descent.

INTRODUCTION
The Information Centre at the House of Worship provides a
self explanatory panel tour with audiovisual facilities. It also
provides richly detailed information about the history of the
Bah' Faith, the different Bah' temples around the world,
the construction of the temple in New Delhi, as well as the
social and economic development projects which the Bahs
involved in.
The Lotus Temple, also known as the Bah House of Worship,
is a lotus-flower-shaped temple.
It is one of seven Bah temples located around the world.
Opened to the public in 1986,comprised of 27 free-standing
marble shells depicting the petals of a lotus flower. The
temples architect, Fariborz Sahba, chose the lotus flower
because it symbolizes purity and tenderness.

Lights and fixtures are arranged in a symmetric pattern.


It gives a sense of movement
It directs you in a certain direction.
It is not sharp contrasting and also doesnt have frequent
light variations.
