1 Genre multiple Mediums

The Genre I will be analysing is action/adventure amongst different action

adventure games. The first game I will be analysing is Grand Theft Auto.
Grand Theft Auto is an action-adventure video game series created
by David Jones and Mike Dailly the later titles of which were created by
brothers Dan and Sam Houser, Leslie Benzies and Aaron Garbut. It is
primarily developed by Rockstar North (formerly DMA Design), and
published by Rockstar Games. The name of the series references the term
used in the US for motor vehicle theft.
Most games in the series are set in fictional locales modelled on American
cities, usually either Liberty City, Vice City, or San Andreas, which are
stand-ins for New York City, Miami, and the state of California,
respectively. The first game encompassed three fictional cities, while
subsequent titles tend to emphasise a single city and its outlying
areas. Gameplay focuses on an open world where the player can choose
missions to progress an overall story, as well as engaging in side
activities, all consisting of action-adventure, driving, third-person
shooting, occasional role-playing, stealth, and racing elements. The series
also has elements of the earlier beat 'em up games from the 16-bit era.
The series has gained controversy for its adult nature and violent themes.
The series focuses around many different protagonists who attempt to rise
through the ranks of the criminal underworld, although their motives for
doing so vary in each game. The antagonists are commonly characters
who have betrayed the protagonist or his organisation, or characters who
have the most impact impeding the protagonist's progress. The series
contains satire and humour.

Above is an article about The effects and concerns of grand theft auto
that teachers appear to have. Teachers can obviously see behaviour
changes in their students, therefore they truly know the damage games
like this can do.
The trick is that Grand Theft Auto was designed to be a third-person
game. You look down and you see your body. Your hands reach out when
you jump over fences. Your body has a sense of weight and reality that's
missing in most games. It's not a first-person game now, but nor is it a
purely third-person title. The game has to do both, on the fly, and the
necessary changes to make that possible bring the game to life.
The game was built with the idea that you'd always see your body, and
Rockstar has the sort of budget most studios can only dream about,
allowing the world to be fleshed out and detailed in a way that's rare in
games. Seeing this reality through the eyes of your character is stunning,
and not just because you feel a deeper connection to the setting. If
anything it makes everything you see and do more repulsive.

According to the BBC:

The American Psychological Association concluded while there was "no
single risk factor" to blame for aggression, violent video games did
contribute.
"The research demonstrates a consistent relation between violent video
game use and increases in aggressive behaviour, aggressive cognitions
and aggressive affect, and decreases in pro-social behaviour, empathy
and sensitivity to aggression," said the report.
"It is the accumulation of risk factors that tends to lead to aggressive or
violent behaviour. The research reviewed here demonstrates that violent
video game use is one such risk factor."
However, a large group of academics said they felt the methodology of
the research was deeply flawed as a significant part of material included
in the study had not been subjected to peer review.
"I fully acknowledge that exposure to repeated violence may have shortterm effects - you would be a fool to deny that - but the long-term
consequences of crime and actual violent behaviour, there is just no
evidence linking violent video games with that," Dr Mark Coulson,
associate professor of psychology at Middlesex University and one of the
signatories of the letter told the BBC.
"If you play three hours of Call of Duty you might feel a little bit pumped,
but you are not going to go out and mug someone."
The question about whether violent games inspire violent behaviour "in
real life" is a subject that strongly divides opinion.
The playing of violent video games is often cited as a factor in motivating
shockingly violent youth crimes such as high school shootings in the US.
One of the students who carried out the Columbine High School massacre
in 1999 used a gun he called "Arlene" - allegedly after a character in a
novel inspired by the computer game Doom.
However, most people who played graphically violent games (such as Call
of Duty, Hitman, Mortal Kombat) did not resort to violence - and most
video games were not violent, said Dr Richard Wilson from trade body
Tiga.
When it comes to games such as call of duty, a very similar game in the
sense that again it encourages killing, but its newest add ons take out
some of the reality that it used to contain.

According to the daily mail in the newsletter above, they say different, in
fact Call of Duty is thought to be linked to 4 teenage deaths and according
