Building a Shelter
Learning Objective Learn how to build a self-supporting shelter with cover that
can withstand wind and rain.
Time allocation- 60 min Group A P5

Group B - P6

Teamwork Students will be divided into groups of 6, (120 in year group) 20

groups in total.
Resources:

Spine - pole/stick at least 5ft in length

Framework sticks variety of sizes
String/thin rope
Cover Material or debris

Debrief Questions:

What happened during the process? What worked? What didnt or what
hindered the process?

What leadership was demonstrated during the process? How so? What did
you observe?

What were the individual roles people played? Were members comfortable
with their roles?

How did you communicate the plans to group members?

What challenges did you face in the building of the shelter?

What did you learn about your group?

What did you learn about yourself?
