ONE SCHOOL, ONE

BOOK: The Fault in our

stars by John Green
BY ALENA, AMELIA, HANA, NIEVES, PAVLINA AND PILAR

INTRODUCTION

Ten years ago, the Dublin city council took a reading initiative called Dublin:
One city, one book. Let's have a look at it:
http://www.dublinonecityonebook.ie/

After surveying our students last year on the books that most appeal to them,
we have chosen the book The Fault in our stars by John Green to work with
this academic course.

After the beginning of the school year, the students will be required to have
read the book by April.

Following a similar programme to the one of Dublin, we have designed a varied

range of activities that will take place during the last week of April and that will
integrate the four skills included in the communicative competence: listening
and speaking, reading and writing.

We will create posters and other materials to promote the activity.

one book" initiative (book fair celebrated at school)

READING MARATHON

"Some infinities are

bigger than other
infinities".
John Green, The Fault in
Our Stars

The reading marathon will take place in three

consecutive days: Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday.

It will start at 08.30 and will finish at 14.20.

Each student will read for about 5-6 minutes
during the whole morning.

The reader's corner will be at the hall. As this

activity will be volunteer, there will be a book
for students to register and the managing
team will make the turns for reading.
