Requirement of Art Classes

A couple of years ago, I had a friend who wasnt doing very well in their classes.
They always talked about being stressed out from their nonstop working and studying,
so I recommended that they take an art class. They thought it would make there hectic
schedule even more chaotic. Though after taking time to convince them with the
following facts, they decided to go through with it. Right away I could tell my friend had
reached a new level of serenity. Her grades went up, attitude improved, and she felt
more connected with herself. Taking time out of your day with an art class can really just
help you feel like you have more control with your life.
People say that art is a useless academic class that distracts you from more
"important" studies, though I disagree. While studies like math and science are
important in school, I think that art is just as valuable. I believe that an art class should
be required, because it is beneficial and stimulates your brain.I believe that an art class
makes your academic performances higher, I believe art inspires a creative mindset
that seems to be neglected and forgotten when you age.
One reason I believe that art classes should be required is, it helps students
grades become better. Art, is a necessary class, that helps students with grades.
According to the Arts Education Policy Review, its stated that "students involved in the
arts do better in school." It is known that kids who participate in art classes commonly

do better on standardized testing. These classes help kids in so many ways. Especially,
if they're exposed to classes at a younger age. Art helps develop motor skills, decision
making, and visual learning. Do we want to deprive the students of Trinity the
opportunity to have a better grade? Without the arts kids and teenagers won't be able to
find away to release stressed tension in their lives.
Another reason is, that it helps kids find a way to express themselves. According
to the Arts Education Policy Review, art helps kids be able to have better feel of control
over their lives. Art, is a way to release emotions that have been bottled up. Especially
since us teenagers, deal with a great amount of drama, they need time where they can
relax and figure things out. These art classes would provide people to express
themselves in some ways they cant in other academic classes. Imagine just having
work on, on work , on work, they need time stop and just take a break.
I believe that having required art classes is extremely important, and not only did
it help with my friend, but it has also helped with a multitude of people around the world.
The arts help us with our grades, stress relief, and give us a chance to express ourself.
Whether it be making us the next Einstein or Vincent Van Gogh, art classes help shape
us in a way we may not realize. Art is an important factor in our lives that need to be
provided and we cant let that be taken away from us.
