Weak end at Bernies !

Goal Scorers

Man of the Match

Doriano

Weekend at Bernies II came to a disappointing

end for Kellyville Black, going down four goals to
one in the second clash of this season with their
fellow club men.
From the kick o, the Blacks couldnt get going. Passes
were going astray, players from the whites werent marked
up and 50-50s didnt exist. After starting so many games
extremely well this season the Blacks found it dicult to
put there heads (and bodies) into the game - the resulting
carnage on the scoreboard and of players was an inevitable
outcome.
Over the last few weeks, training attendance has
dropped and the work done has been poor. On-time arrival
for matches and an adequate warm up has not taken place.
Players playing (and knowing) as a team to carve open
teams and to stop teams is what we built our success on
has faded.
Today two goals by the whites in the opening ten
minutes had the Blacks looking for answers, before they
even got going.
As the team tried to get the passes going, the legs and
runs werent happening! The movement that makes good
(and bad) passes look great was slow and unsure? WHY?
The Whites should not get close to the Blacks..... in
dicult positions in matches it is the team who knows
their strengths and stick to it that WILL come out on top.
It is useless to blame the field, the ref, players, the pass, the
chase, the opposition... or even the size of Alex shorts.

Fewelly, who has been a rock in recent weeks, went

down injured after 15 minutes. This was a time when the
Blacks would find normally find extra - they didnt.
It took until the final 15 minutes before half time to see
glimpses of what the Blacks could produce. A few chances
and the fact the whites couldnt really believe they were in
front combined to give the Blacks a window back into the
game.
A good cross from Rich, found Doriano free on the
penalty spot to get one back with a good header.
The break saw the Blacks look to rally for the second
half. They came out with some good intent, but were still
slow on their movement and passing. This was putting
pressure on the touchs and resulted in disjointed attacks
and turnovers of possession.
The Whites took advantage and scored a couple of
good goals on the break. Even this shouldnt happen as the
Blacks know if they maintain shape, they will wear teams
down and stop them from getting anywhere near scoring
against them. The opportunity to win matches late is lost if
shape is lost.
Alex was showing the fight despite the score, when he
chased back to the byline. Unfortunately, he went down
with a tough injury. This again should have seen everybody
else lift....
Noons maintained his intensity throughout the match,
putting in a tough eort.
The last couple of weeks have been poor results, but at the
halfway point the Blacks are right in the mix. As a couple are out
injured, it wi# be the lads le$ in that WILL stand up to be
counted.

Coaches Corner.....
The measure of a man is seen in his losses
and what he does as a result...
