RELEVANT WORK AND VOLUNTEER HISTORY

Respite Worker June 2014 - Present

As a respite worker, I work with a boy who has autism and a traumatic
brain injury in a home where the parents have fostered four children
diagnosed with FASD. My job is to ensure his safety and well being
while providing him with a relatable friend. I always strive to help him
overcome the difficulties he encounters by negotiating my role as both
his companion and an authority figure.
Gilbert Park Youth Leader with Norwest Coop June 2013 - August 2013
As a youth leader, I worked with children between the ages of 12-17
and taught them how to run their own cooperative, the Amazing
Gilbert Park Youth Coop. We encountered several challenges and had
important conversations about the importance of making positive
contributions to the community.
Basketball and Baseball Coach April 2011 Present
As a basketball and baseball coach, I work with youth between the
ages of 9 and 17. I teach the athletes the fundamental skills of the
sports while implicitly and explicitly providing athletes with lessons on
hard work, intrinsic motivation, and a passion for sport.
CanU Academy Leader January 2015- March 2015

As a CanU Academy Leader, I helped design and implement a six week

program for grade five students focused on reading and story writing. I
created songs, reading activities, and creative exercises to help foster
the students love of reading.
PRACTICUM EXPERIENCES

Transcona Collegiate Institute September 2015 April 2016

At Transcona Collegiate, I planned and taught units in each of my three

practicum block, I implemented diferentiated assignments and
focused on developing a constructivist teaching style that placed me in
the role of facilitator.
Miles Macdonell Collegiate September 2014 April 2015
At Miles Macdonell, I planned and taught short units in each of my
