Field Testing of Construction Products Seminar Program Staffing Plan

Scope
The design, development and delivery of this pilot program will take a considerable
amount of employee resources. Subject Matter Experts, Training staff, administration, an event
coordinator, sample lab technicians and local sales representatives will all be called upon to
successfully implement this training program.
Training Staff
Two training staff will be required on the event team. Both representatives should have a
working knowledge of adult learning principles and should have a degree in adult education or
similar certification. They must be able to work on a team with subject matter experts and
should have completed all internal basic product workshops to insure a basic knowledge of
construction products. These two staff will be required to work 60 hours total on the design and
development of the program. One staff member will be required to spend another 16 hours
attending the pilot event.
Three internal subject matter experts (SME) will be required for the development of the
program and two of them will be called upon to assist in the facilitation of the pilot event. These
experts will have a thorough understanding of the industry, as well field testing protocols. Each
SME will have completed our internal train the trainer program and have facilitated a
minimum of three product training events including a skills feedback session. 40 hours for
development and 16 hours of delivery of the pilot will be expected.

One external SME will be required to evaluate the draft program plan to insure accuracy
of content. This resource will also deliver a presentation at the pilot event as a guest speaker and
be filled by providing the program plan to a Sr. Engineer at one of the target engineering firms in
return for a price break in the pilot program.
An applications lab technician will be required to create testing samples for the hands-on
portion of the program. This lab technician must be familiar with the testing equipment and
protocols used in the pilot program. At this time this individual does not exist in the lab. 8 hours
of training will be built into the technicians and SME hours for this project. The total time
required for the lab technician is a total of 40 hours.
One local sales representative will be required to find location for and hosting the event.
This individual will have completed all internal basic product training courses and will be given
a layout of the hands-on workstations with dimensions of the space required. This sales
representative will also be responsible for presenting a welcome message at the beginning of the
program and work as a local liaison with the facility. This role will take approximately 10 hours.
An event coordinator will be required to arrange facility usage, meals, and registration for
the pilot program. This individual must have working experience with training events, be skilled
in our online registration process, and have a minimum of 3 years experience contracting with
event facilities. Six hours will be budgeted for this time.
A marketing segment manager will be required to assist with design of the pilot program
as well as the evaluation of the program. This individual will have completed all basic internal
product training workshops. This individual must have access to industry data, company sales

data, and a knowledge of the major engineering firms in North America. 16 hours of time will
be expected of this position.
The local regional sales manager will be required to attend as part of the internal
evaluation program. This will consist of 10 hours on the day of the pilot training as well as two
hours of follow up feedback discussions.
Conclusion
Existing staff will fulfill most of the personnel requirements for this training. One
resource gap is within our sample lab and will be filled by a condensed training plan for the
designated technician. The last gap will be filled by a Senior Engineer from one of the firms
requesting this training. All staff will have detailed role plans including performance
evaluations.
