REPORT CARDS AND PARENT-TEACHER MEETINGS

Your childs report card for Term 1 is enclosed. Please take the time to
review their progress and celebrate their achievements.
Parent-Teacher Meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 2015.
Please remember the conference time booked by you through the on-line
appointment booking system. If for some reason you have not booked on
line, please call us so that we can provide assistance.

It is very important that you attend at the scheduled time. Please do not
bring school age or other young children with you when you come to meet
with teachers.

On December 2, 2015, classes will end at 11:35 AM with busses leaving the
school at 11:45 AM. There are no classes for Kindergarten on December 2,
2015.

Holiday Celebrations
Wish Upon A Star
Do you think wishing on a star really helps dreams come true? What can you do to
make these wishes come true? What do you wish for yourself for Christmas? What do
you wish for others for Christmas - for the world? What does it take from each of us to
make others happy?
These are some of the questions that our students will answer over the next few days.
They will write their one word wishes on stars and hang them throughout our building
this holiday season.

Holiday Draw
The Holiday Draw is set for December 22, 2015, and tickets are in circulation to parents
who provided signed consent forms.
The prize package this year is, as follows:
1st Prize: Travel Gift Certificate Valued @ $2500.00 through LeGrows Travel,
Bay Roberts + $500.00 spending money
2nd Prize: $500.00 cash
3rd Prize: $250.00 cash
Students who have sold $100.00 worth of tickets with money and stubs returned on or
before November 30, 2015, will have their names entered in draws for $50.00 gift
certificates from Toys R Us. Two certificates are available for the draw - one for
students in Primary division (Kindergarten Grade 3) and one for students in Elementary
(Grade 4, 5, & 6).
Parents with tickets sold are asked to return the stubs in time for the November 30
incentive draw. In preparation for the final Draw on December 22, all remaining tickets /
stubs must be returned on or before December 11, 2015.
Holiday Musicals
Holiday Musicals are scheduled for December 8, 10, 15, & 17. Primary
division (K 3) will be on stage on December 8 & 10. Elementary students
are scheduled for December 15 & 17. Classes of children performing on the
respective nights are as follows:

Persons selecting the Off-line Payment option have until end of day on December
2, 2015 to pay for their tickets through the school office. After that date all unpaid tickets will be
released for sale.

Volunteers
It is a very busy time for all of us here at school with many things to
do. Volunteers help in many ways, and as we get ready for the
season, assistance with costumes for musicals and decorating is
needed. If you would like to help in any way please call or drop by
the school office.
Non-Perishable Food Items for The Helping Hand.
We are collecting non-perishable food items for the food bank until
Friday, December 18. Children are asked to bring in items and you can
also bring donations on the evening of each musical. Help us fill Santas
Chimney for those in need at this time of the year.
Holiday Dinner
Our annual Holiday Dinner is scheduled for 12:00 NOON on
Monday, December 21, 2015. We will serve a traditional hot
turkey dinner with beverage and desert to students and
staff. There is no cost to students.
Please consider helping out with this event an invitation
to sign up is included in the report card envelope.

Holiday Skate
We have scheduled a Holiday Skate at the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts for the morning of
Monday, December 21, 2015. This event is FREE and open only to students at All Hallows
Elementary.
Busses will leave for the Bay Arena @ 8:45 AM and
return after the session which ends at 10:30 AM.
Children who choose not to participate, will be involved
in activities here at school.
The Kindergarten schedule for December 21 is a little
different, so parents with children at this level are asked
to see the note provided by the teachers.
Regulations respecting skates, helmets, and other
routine matters apply to this and all skating events.
Participating or not, please complete and return the Holiday Skate Consent Form
included with this memorandum.

Holiday Sing-A-Long
Our Annual Holiday Sing-a-long will take place in the school gymnasium beginning at 11:30
AM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Please join us as we sing our way into the holidays.
Last day for Cafeteria Food Services
The last day for regular food services by Rainbow Food Services will be Friday, December
18, 2015. As we are providing lunch on December 21, students will only need a packed
lunch for December 22.

Emergency School Announcements

Parents should listen to radio stations KIXX, CBC, VOCM, & COAST for last minute
reminders and emergency school announcements. Information about school closures is also
posted on the Newfoundland and Labrador English School Districts website (www.nlesd.ca).

Head Lice
Head lice have been reported in the past few weeks. Please check your child and if you
need advice and assistance contact the Department of Health and Community Services @
