Dear Undergraduate Admissions Committee,
Brooklyn Howard has been a student at Flint Southwestern Classical Academy for the past four years. During her tenure, she has shown excellent leadership skills through her involvement as an interscholastic athlete, an academically focused mindset, and an incredible amount of promise. Because of her achievements and accolades, I gladly give Brooklyn my high favorable recommendation to your institution. As the College Adviser at Flint Southwestern, I have been responsible for guiding and navigating students through their transition from high school to postsecondary life; I spend ample time with seniors while understanding their strengths and advising on how to maximize them. Soon after meeting Brooklyn, it was easy to see that she possessed a fiery ambition, a certain toughness of character, and a natural inclination to work effectively. Because of her charisma and strong leadership qualities, she has applied herself to be an active and conscientious member of Southwesterns senior class; she has made her position as a stand-out leader by serving on the Senior Student Council, playing in interscholastic sports, balancing a part-time job, and offering her expertise by mentoring younger students in formal capacities. Through her job shadowing campaign, she has received valuable insight in the realm of higher education student affairs as she shadowed a student outreach professional. As evidenced by her volunteering and membership in social science-oriented clubs, Brooklyn has an insatiable thirst for knowledge in the counseling field. Not only has Brooklyn has grown aware of issues surrounding equity with socioeconomic settings, but she has developed an open yet forward perspective with working with people coming from diverse backgrounds at university. Brooklyn has demonstrated commitment to her community, her coursework, and the collective well-being of her peers. I am confident that Brooklyn will continue to exemplify these traits in her journey through higher education. Her admission to your university would greatly benefit in the creation of his/her legacy. Feel reach out to me if there are any questions regarding Brooklyn as an applicant; please do not hesitate to contact me at dcpark@umich.edu Yours most sincerely, Daniel C.
