DAILY TONIC FOR 8TH OF APRIL 2010

Text: But the LORD is righteous; he has cut me free from the
cords of the wicked. (Psalm 129:4 New International Version)
There is no doubt that we are confronted daily with the devices of the
wicked. The devil himself is not resting on each man’s case, working
assiduously to take all men to hell with him.
However, the Lord is always on our side freeing us from the cords of
the wicked. To get us, the wicked will do anything to entangle us and
make us fall from the presence of God. God’s love towards us makes
Him to protect and deliver us from the snare of the fowler. Psalm
124:7-8 says “we have escaped like a bird out of the fowler's
snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped; our
help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and
earth”.
Jesus, our Lord, came “to proclaim freedom for the captives and
release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1). This he will
do only for those who believe in him as Lord and Saviour and who have
confess same.
I am glad I am covered because I believe! Are you? Have you
confessed Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? It is only then you can be
cut free from the cord of the wicked.
