Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
This artifact demonstrates my ability to work with other staff and building/district leadership to analyze student progress.
This artifact is a copy of my third grade teams individual career development plan. At the beginning of each school
year, we analyze the 2nd grade Iowa Assessment data to identify which students are less than proficient for math and
reading. We then create a goal to set for our team of how many students we want to move up into the proficient area in
both content areas. At the end of the year we also reflect on our progress by analyzing our outcome of success.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better)
Working with other staff member is such a great opportunity to learn from experienced teachers. I truly value each and
every opportunity I receive to work with an experience teacher because I know that I can learn valuable skills, strategies,
and advice from them. At the beginning of each school year it is great that the third grade team collaborates on this ICD
plan. It holds us accountable to target which students need extra support in the content areas of math and reading. This
helps us to guide our instruction and intervention time appropriately to fit the needs of the students who are less than
proficient in math and reading. This plan also requires us to reflect on the data and make improvements where they are
needed. This is a great resource to help build team work and monitor student learning.
