1. My thoughts on my summer reading sample.

I did not get the

greatest grades on my summer reading assignments. I think I didnt do
that well for a few reasons. First I had awful grammar and I rushed
through the essays. I dont think highly of my paper since I had many
markings and most were proofreading errors. I rushed through my
essays and did not receive the result I was hoping for.
2. Progress from start to now. I feel like I have grown so much as a
writer because I have never been confident with my writing and have
always scored low and not the grades I want to get. I struggle with
proofreading and grammar but as the year has progressed I have
gotten better. I also could never really get all my words down on paper
the way I wanted to until the end of this semester when I scored a 91%
on a writing test.
3. Challenges. Like stated above I have struggled with getting my words
down on paper and having them written the way I was thinking it. I
also struggle with proofreading and when I have peer revised it had
given my more experience with overcoming my problems.
4. How to overcome struggles. I have overcome my challenges with
getting my words down by using Mrs. Eatons writing structure. It helps
me stay organized. I have been working on my grammar struggles by
having grammar lessons in class and I also have my grandma help me
with grammar.
5. Next Semester Goals. I think my main goal for next semester is to
improve my proof reading skills so I dont get as many points marked
down on my writing. I also am going to ask my teacher for grammar
work to improve my skills.
6. Proud Work. I am most proud of my TKAM essays. Although it took
me a long time I was able to receive a 91%. My highest grade was from
me working hard and wanting to improve my skills and grades for this
class.
7. Loop. I hated the loop format at first but once I got the hang of it I
sort of liked it. Since the loop was able to let me get my words down on
paper better I liked it. I think some of the transitions are unnecessary
at times but otherwise I overall like the format.
8. Strengths of teacher. Mrs. E was great at teaching writing. She gave
out great notes and handouts and was easy to follow. The format she
taught was very well planned and also great guidelines for writing a
paper especially honors.

9. Weaknesses. Mrs. E was very strict on the formatting of her writing

and even when we were getting the hang of using it she still marked
points off. I think she was also a little to harsh on the grading of writing
for us students.

I think that this year made me really grow as a writer and
I hope I keep excelling in this class. And I know that I will grow
more and more every year and my writing is only going to get
better.
