CEEC AOE

Roles and Responsibilities

CEEC Advisory Board:

Provides professional expertise to support Academy curriculum with periodic reviews and
updates, review and contribution of collateral material, sponsoring field trips, creating and
participating in student conferences and classroom participation.
Assists in student recruitment by meeting with and addressing student candidates and parents,
providing promotional material at school events and advocating on behalf of the Academy in
business and social activities throughout the community.
Assists in the recruitment of additional Advisory Board members by sponsoring and presenting
at a variety of venues and events (Chamber meetings, professional association meetings, school
site meetings (recruitment breakfasts, luncheons, etc..)
Secures paid internships for at least 50% of eligible Academy students, and encourages other
community businesses to provide paid internships for all other eligible Academy students (with
a goal of 100% of eligible students placed in paid internship positions after the completion of
their junior year in high school.)
Provides access to professional development and technical assistance for teachers.
Provides industry familiarization tours for teachers and career exploration tours for students.
Provides mentoring and shadowing opportunities for students and professional training
opportunities and externships for teachers.
Assists in budget development for the Academy by participating in an annual Strategic Planning
meeting, typically held in August or early September.
Provides at least 50% of fundraising needs to support Academy activities and scholarships, and
encourages other community businesses to provide funding for all other Academy activities and
scholarships (100% of fundraising efforts not otherwise provided by the district, state or Federal
funding.
Assists in promotional and public relations activities for the Academy.
Serves as an advocate for the Academy to educational, political, civic and business communities.
Encourages employers to support the Academy efforts company-wide and facilitates the
relationship between the Academy and its partner-employers.
Assists schools in developing ongoing measurement processes that provide data to support
fundraising and business recruitment efforts and track student progress

CEEC AOE
Roles and Responsibilities

Advisory Board Chair Person:

Advocate for CEEC AOE to parents, industry professional s and community volunteers.
Lead the Board in initiatives to advance CEEC AOE in all areas.
Establish sub-committees as necessary.
Assist in Grant writing initiatives
Assist in acquiring and supporting internships for students.
Lead Advisory board Meetings.
Collect and maintain data for the academy.
Help in the creation of marketing materials for the CEEC AOE.
Seek out opportunities for funding, field trips and other opportunities for AOE.
Represent CEEC AOE on the CMS Regional Advisory Board

Academy Coordinator:

11 Month Position with Flex time to allow for off-campus meetings with industry professionals
and recruitment.
Meet with potential industry partners to gain support.
Advocate for CEEC AOE to parents, industry professional s and community volunteers.
Support the academy teaching staff.
Develop new opportunities and ideas for students.
Maintain communication with teachers and students.
Lead Parent information sessions.
Support clubs that enhance the Academy of Engineering.
Work with AOE Counselor and Student Leaders to recruit for the AOE.
Collect and maintain data for the academy.
Help in the creation of marketing materials for the CEEC AOE.
Represent CEEC AOE on the CMS Regional Advisory Board

AOE Counselor

Advocate for CEEC AOE to parents, industry professional s and community volunteers.
Work Academy Coordinator and Student Leaders to recruit for the AOE.
Create career-based guidance plan
Support students in course work management.
Provide students with resources for improving academic achievement.

CTE Instructional Coordinator:

Advocate for CEEC AOE to parents, industry professional s and community volunteers.

Support the academy teaching staff.


Participate and take minutes in the Advisory Board Meetings.
Assist the AOE Academy Coordinators Board wherever necessary.

Administration:

Advocate for CEEC AOE to parents, industry professional s and community volunteers.
Support the academy teaching staff.
Participate in the Advisory Board Meetings.
Be sure to represent in the AOE in administration meetings about the school branding.

Student Leaders (Co-Presidents):

Coordinate and Plan National Engineers Week Activities for student body.
Maintain Newsletter.
Mentor underclass Academy Students.
Participate in the Advisory Board meeting.
Work with Academy Coordinator and AOE Counselor to recruit for the AOE.
