I am sending you this cover letter to express great interest in the position you have available.
As you will come to see I have qualifications that would make me a suitable candidate for this
position.
My most important qualification is arguably my bachelor's degree from Brock University for
Film Studies. Not only did I acquire extensive knowledge of film theory and criticism but university
has sharpened universally applicable skills including critical thinking, communication, organization,
and initiative. These skills were developed while doing activities such as doing effective research,
writing comprehensive assignments, contributing to group work, using time management for meeting
deadlines, and giving engaging presentations. I have been able to utilize these skills in past work
experiences as well as on creative audio and video projects.
I have notable work experience that can show that I am a reliable and competent worker. In
particular my work as a gas leak surveyor was a job that required minimal supervision. As a surveyor
I was given a time frame of four months to surveyor about 12000 locations throughout ChathamKent and Essex. It was my responsibility to create my own weekly schedule and requirements to
achieve this greater assigned goal. In a timely manner, the employer relied on me to independently
record all surveyor data accurately and properly assess the safety classification of gas leaks. This type
of position required me to have the ability to self supervise and also be very organized and
dependable.
Another quality I have that is fairly universally applicable is my creativity which is evident in
the numerous artistic endeavors I have participated in. Creativity is not only paramount from an
artistic stand point but is also very useful when problem solving. My creativity, and the problem
solving ability it permits, have been effectual while acting as a production assistant and a sound
recordist for two documentaries. It's been beneficial for composing and producing music scores for
the same two documentaries and several other short film. My creativity and problem solving skills
have been useful throughout my life and may be an important asset for success in this position.
As you can see I have several qualifications that are applicable for the position available. I
