Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
This artifact is my classroom jobs that I assign to my students. This is one way I create a learning community that
encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and self-regulation for every student. These seven jobs stay
the same throughout the whole school year, but the students rotate through them weekly. I model each job during the
first week of school to demonstrate the responsibility they have in our classroom. Jobs are completed in the morning,
throughout the day, and at the end of the day. Students help each other out at completing these jobs.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better)
I learned that having classroom jobs has given each one of my students a sense of leadership. Throughout the types of
jobs, students are able to practice and demonstrate responsibly and team work. These classroom jobs help them to
respect our classroom and take responsibility for items around the classroom. The students love when their name shows
up on one of jobs on Monday morning. They get very excited to contribute to our classroom needs and know their
classroom responsibility for the week. I want to include more meaningful classroom jobs to our bulletin board so more
students can feel like leaders in our classroom.
