POLICY STATEMENT
Although Egypt maintains strong relations with the Palestinian Authority, it
favors peace between both Israel and Palestine with a two state resolution
allowing the controlled return of Palestinian refugees.
PARAGRAPH 1
Israel, a Middle Eastern country on the Mediterranean Sea, is regarded by
Jews, Christians and Muslims as the biblical Holy Land. The IsraeliPalestinian
conflict is the ongoing struggle between Israelis and Palestinians that began
in the mid-20th century. As the article EgyptPalestine relations by Wikipedia says
The remaining key issues are: mutual recognition, borders, security, water
rights, control of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of
movement, and Palestinian refugee right of return (Wikipedia 1) . The
conflict has been on and off for over 100 years with 6.5 million Palestinian
spread refugees worldwide. Egypt, with Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Saudi
Arabia, holds a percentage of the world's Palestinian refugees. Relations
between Egypt and the Palestinians started in 1952.To this day, Egypt
maintains strong relations with the Palestinian Authority, and it favors peace
between both Israel and Palestine.

Egypt-Israel relations and Egypt-Palestine relations has caused Egypt to favor
peace between both Israel and Palestine. Peace between Israel and Palestine
can be obtained by a two-state solution. The two-state solution envisages
an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel, west of the
Jordan River. The solution will recall the United Nations resolution 1397 and
the 1967 borders. As Two-state solution by Wikipedia contributors says
The boundary between the two states is still subject to dispute and
negotiation, with Palestinian and Arab leadership insisting on the 1967
borders (Wikipedia 1). The solution would allow the return of Palestinian
refugees, Palestine and Israel to be named as official states and Holy lands of
each religious group to be accessed and protected. Peace between Palestine
and Israel can be obtained with this Two-state solution.
