At the conclusion
of this lesson,
students will have
successfully
organised and
undertaken round 1
of the year 10
netball tournament.
This includes each
student performing
their allocated roles
within the team that
was given to them
in the previous
week (coach,
sports medic etc.).

Formal points
system where
points are not
only allocated
for each
win/loss/draw,
but are
allocated for
students who
are taking out
their roles in a
manner that
helps the
tournament run
smoothly.

Set Up:
- Students will ensure that each netball court
is set up with the appropriate goal posts
(height, safety etc.).
- Make sure that courts are safe to play on
- Organise a whiteboard for the display of
fixtures for Round 1.
- Scorecards are distributed to the coaches
of each team
- Distribute a set of bibs to each team and
ensure that the balls for each court are
pumped up properly.
Warm Up:
- Coaches from each team organise a warm
up for their own teams.
Tournament:
- Students gather to find out the fixtures for
the first game and which team will be on
duty.
