Past & Present


Joined IFS November 1997 as a Software Engineer
Appointed Project Manager in July 1999
Currently Project Manager for 4 projects run in Sri Lanka
Was appointed overall Project Manager for the Business Performance Module in
August 2002 for the 2004 IFS Application Release
Team consists of persons located in Sri Lanka, Sweden and Finland

Responsibilities
Defining Scope for Project
Ensuring team has right competence mix
Ensuring the correct equipment (hardware and software) is available
Planning work for team
Monitor work and ensure that things are running according to schedule and that
deadlines will be met
Drawing up an action plan when things are deviating from the project schedule

Qualities
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing essential when dealing
with a multinational company
Ability to identify potential problems or to be able to identify problems in its
initial stages and take preventive/corrective actions

Human Resource Management


Provide feedback to team members both formally (at evaluations) and informally
(on a day-to-day basis)
Authorizing leave
Identify training requirements
Ensuring the team has enough work and coming up with alternative tasks when
there is slack time

Additional Tasks
Meeting with other managers (both locally and abroad) to discuss project/work
related issues
Coming up with work guidelines and methodologies

In Conclusion
I enjoy my work I find enriching and fulfilling and look forward to the ability to
learn more about Business Administration so that I may optimize my career
choices and further enhance my work.
