Communicating the plan. This element is essential and will be done through the
religious education plan for the upcoming semester. It will be placed in upcoming bulletins and
on the parish website and social media sites. Building interest and commitment is one of the
most difficult tasks. Building excitement around the course is important because, this course is
the base for additional faith training. Without the basic courses the final Sacrament of Initiation:
Confirmation cannot be received. Selection of participants. Participants will be selecting from
recent candidates of First Holy Communion and Third Graders from surrounding public and
Catholic Schools.
Formative Assessments
Before completion of the required First Holy Communion course, a pre-test will be given
to each candidate on the third grade plan Our Life with Jesus. Each of the identified goals will
be covered to determine which areas are the participants strengths and weaknesses. The
INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN
assessments will include true and false, multiple choice, essay, fill in the blank, and interactive
web Q&A. The pretest will be given with an hour completion time.
Once the test is completed and graded. The facilitator of the third grade course will be
able to tailor their teaching style to accommodate each participant. Once the participant is in the
course and learning, they will be given four tests after each covered goal to ensure each goal is
mastered. It will also determine whether or not a participant is not comprehending the materials
and if another approach with the lesson should be considered. In addition, a final test or posttest
will be given to determine their understanding of each topic.
