After getting confirmation

from Bedlam we then got
in contact with Glenn to
confirm dates and times
with him that he would
be free to come into the
record shop to perform.
We came to the
conclusion that it was
perfect if we had got
Glenn on a Saturday
morning, as that was
when he was free and
this then was perfect
Bedlam as Saturday
mornings were quiet in
the shop for filming.
We contacted each other
with a role we had to play
for pre production, such
as a rough equipment list
and what was to be done
on the day of filming
such as times and
locations.
We came to a final draft
of the questions and then
a rough script was
written up to ensure what
was going to be
happening on set.
Altogether we confirmed
the dates and times that
everyone had to be on
set. We also confirmed a
time for the following day
to collect equipment and
get everything in order
before filming.

At first we planned to use pyramid lights around the studio, to get a quirky
set built around the performer. We previously done research of different
types of lighting on music shows such as Other Voices and Jools Holland.
We researched forms
and shapes of
pyramids and the
positions in which
they could be placed
around the
performer for
interesting lighting
and cinematography.
After this we made set sketches of how we wished the set to look, but due
to financial problems and locating the materials to build the set the idea
fell through.
Through our team meetings and discussions we decided that bedlams
Abbazappa Records shop would be a perfect set for the use of colours and
set design that we wanted. The design and layout of Abbazappa Records
shop was perfect for the name of our show Vintage Records.
We contacted the shop and asked permission to take photos of layout and
colours. Abbazappa Records shop was a perfect set for how interesting it
was look at as a viewer, but was also perfect for the performer Glenn
Rosborough for his unique, quirky style.

For our rehearsal we went into the studio to test the equipment and
make sure everything was set for us going up to ABBAZAPPA
Records. Although this wasnt a rehearsal in our actual filming
location it was the best we could do to prepare for the real thing.
In the studio we tested the cameras making sure each was working
as intended and that the footage taken was of the highest quality
we could take. We tried out a mixture of set ups with the cameras to
choose the best one before filming on location. We tried both hand
held and tripod work to see which gave the better quality footage.
After reviewing the footage we decided that the best was the stuff
taken on the tripod. As well as testing the set ups, we decided to
plan what angles we would be using so as to save time on location.
To do this we had a member of a team sit in a central location and
experimented with the angles.
As well as testing the cameras we tested the sound. Sound was an
integral part of our production as it was firstly a live music recording
and then an interview. We set up the sound equipment the way we
would have had it for the live production to ensure that the
equipment would preform to the standard we wanted for our
production. After testing out several different sound set ups we
chose the one we though gave the best quality of sound and
decided that was the set up we would use on the day of the live
shooting.
This was all done over the weeks before the production at different
times due to the tight schedule we had to follow.
