La survie nette est la survie qui serait

observe si la seule cause de dcs
des personnes tait le cancer ; c est un
indicateur pidmiologique important car, en
saffranchissant des ventuelles variations
de mortalit lies aux autres causes de
dcs, elle permet des comparaisons dans
le temps pour un mme pays et entre pays.

Lincidence des cancers quantifie la frquence

de survenue de cette maladie. Elle sexprime
principalement de deux faons: en nombre de
nouveaux cas annuels dans une population
ou en taux annuel dincidence standardis,
cest--dire en nombre de nouveaux cas durant
une anne pour 100000personnes ayant une
structure dge donne.

La
prvalence
totale
des cancers correspond
au nombre (ou la
proportion) de personnes
atteintes ou ayant t
atteintes dune pathologie
cancreuse et vivantes
une date donne.

La mortalit par cancer sexprime

principalement de deux faons : en
nombre annuel de dcs par cancer
dans une population ou en taux annuel
de mortalit standardis , cest--dire
en nombre de dcs par cancer durant
une anne pour 100 000 personnes
ayant une structure dge donne.
