Skills
Experimental Skills are not taught as their own subject, but integrated
throughout the course. Descriptions and explanations of experiments along with
graphing, tables and variables are required learning.
Some mathematical skills are also assumed knowledge for the course. These
include rearranging and deriving formulae and trigonometry.

Assessment
Assessment is composed of 40% Folio tasks, 30% Skills and Application tasks and
30% External Exam.
Folio tasks comprise of three experiments with reports and an issues
investigation. One summative experiment will be undertaken each term, with
the issues investigation being introduced at the end of term 1.
Skills and Application tasks consist of 4 topic tests, one for each topic.
All school based summative tasks will be marked according to specific
assessment criteria according to the appropriate performance standards
The exam is externally set and will be sat in November

Course Work
Course work will be provided along with formative review papers for each sub
topic.
The text Physics Essentials 1&2 is available from the school library and is an
excellent resource for further reading and extra questions with solutions. This
text is not required during lesson time, but instead reserved for individual
student needs.
Later in the year Revision Guides can be purchased through the school, which
are again an excellent resource
All course work, review papers and practice tests are available at

A closed Facebook group, BHS Stage Two Physics is also available for
information, discussion and communication.
