    High courts are the highest courts in each province of Pakistan. [1] A high court consists of a chief justice and other judges appointed by the president in consultation with the chief justice and governor.     1.Introduction:
    Accordingtotheconstitutionof1973ofIslamicrepublicofPakistanahighcourtisthehighestcourtina
    province.normallythejurisdictionofahighcourtislimitedtoitsrespectiveprovince.

    2.RelevantProvisions:
    Article192208.

    3.Formation:
    Highcourtshallconsistofachiefjusticeandsomanyotherjudgesasmaybefixedbylaw.

    4.Appointment:
    ThechiefjusticeofhighcourtshallbeappointedbythepresidentofPakistanafterconsulationwiththe
    chiefjusticeofPakistanandwiththegovernorconcernedtheotherjudgesshallbeappointedbythe
    presidentaftertheconslutedwiththechiefjusticeofhighcourtandgovernorconcerned.

    5.Qualificationsforjudges:
    Thejudgeofhighcourtmusthavethefollowingqualifications:
    (a)HemustbeacitizenofPakistan.
    (b)Heshouldnotbelessthan40yearsofage.
    (c)Hehasbeenadvocateofhighcourtforatleasttenyearsor
    (d)Hehasbeenincivilserviceforminimumservedasadistrictjudgeforthreeyearsor
    (e)HehasheldajudicialofficeinPakistanforaperiodofnotlessthantenyears.

    6.OathofOffice:
    (a)Chiefjustice:
    Thechiefjusticetakeoathofhisofficebeforethegovernor.

    (b)Otherjudges:
    Theotherjudgesofhighcourtshalltakeoathofofficebeforethechiefjusticeofthehighcourt.

    7.Termofoffice:
    Retiringageforthejudgeofhighcourtis62years.

    8.Actingchiefjustice:
    Inabsenceofchiefjusticepresidentmayappoint,theseniormostjudgetoactascheifjustice.

    9.Additionaljudges:
    Thepresidentmayappointanysuchpersonwhoisqualifiedtobeajudgetobeaadditionaljudgefora
    certainperiod.ifthereisneedtoincreasethenumberofjudgesofahighcourt.

    10.Seatofthehighcourt:
    Eachhighcourthaveitsprincipalseatattheplacewhereithadsuchseatatthetimeofits
    establishment.

    11.Salaryandfacilities:
    Thechiefjusticeandotherjudgesofahighcourtgetfixedremunerationpermonth.theyarealsogiven
    accommodation,pensionandallowances.

    12.Restrictions:
    AjudgeofhighcourtshallnotholdanyofficeofprofitinserviceofPakistanuntiltheexpirationoftwo
    yearsfromthedateoftheirretirement.however theymaybeappointedinjudicialandQuasiJudicial
    services.theretiredjudgefromhighcourtcannotpracticeinanycourtwithinthejurisdictionofthe
    principalseatofhighcourtbuthecanappearbeforeacourtwhichdidnotfallwithintheirprevious
    jurisdiction.

    13.RemovalofJudges:
    Ajudgecanberemovedfromhisofficeifheisunabletoperformhisdutiesduetophysicalormental
    incapacityorhehasbeenguiltyofgrossmisconduct.thepresidentcandirectsupremejudicialcouncil
    toinquireintomatter.ifcouncilfindshimincableperformhisdutiesthepresidentmayremovethe
    judgefromtheoffice.

    14.Transferofjudges:
    Thepresidentmaytransferajudgefromonehighcourttoanotherhighccourtbutnojudgeshallbe
    transferredexceptwithhisconsent.

    15.Powersandfunctionsofhighcourt:
    I.Originaljurisdiction:

    Highcourthasoriginaljurisdictionincertainmatterssuchasthecaseofcontemptofcourtandwrits
    etc.

    (a)OrderofHabeausCorpus:
    Highcourtcanmakeorderdirectingthatapersonincustodywithinterritorialjurisdictionofthecourt
    bebroughtbeforeitsothatthecourtmaysatisfyitselfthatheisnotbeingheldincustodywithout
    lawfulauthorityorinanunlawfulmanner.

    (b)Orderofmandamus:
    Ifthefundamentalrightsofanypersonhavebeeneffectedthecourtmay,onhisapplication,orderany
    person,authorityorgovernmentwhichisdeemednecessaryfortheenforcementofanysuch
    fundamentalrights.

    II.Appellatejurisdiction:
    Thehighcourthasappellatejurisdictiontohearappealsagainsttheordersdecreesandjudgementsof
    thesubordinate.

    III.Supervisionsofsubordnatecourts:
    Thehighcourtintheprovincesupervisestheworkofthesubordinatecourts.

    (c)Orderofprohibition:
    Highcourtcandirectapersonperformingwithintheterritorialjurisdictionofthecourt,functionsin
    connectionwiththeaffairsofthefederation,province,oralocalauthority,torefrainfromdoingheis
    notpermittedbylaw.

    (d)Orderofcertiorari:
    Highcourtcandeclareanyactdonebyafederal,provincialorlocalauthorityfunctionaryhasbeendone
    withoutlawfulauthorityandisofnolegaleffects.

    16.Bindingeffectofthedecisionsofthehighcourt:
    Thedecisionsofhighcourtshallbebindingeffectonthecourtssubordinatetothehighcourt.

    17.Appealtothesupremecourt:

    Appealsagainstthedecisionsofthehighcourtliebeforethesupremecourt.

    18.Conclusion:
    ToconcludeIcansaythat;thejuducualorganisationofaprovinceisheadedbyahighcourtsinthe
    province.thehighcourtconsistsofacheifjusticeasmanyotherjudgesasmaybefixedbylaw.every
    provinceinPakistanhaveahighcourtofitsown.theparliamentmaybyanactextendthejurisdictionof
    anyhighcourttoanyareainPakistan.
