KNOWN ISSUES REGARDING THE BATTERY
THE FOLLOWING ISSUES REGARDING THE BATTERY MAY OCCUR UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS:
The battery charging time can take up to four hours.
The battery runtime may seem too short. Windows shows wrong battery capacities.

SOLUTION:
If the battery has not been charged over a longer period of time (e.g. long storage, or long delivery time), the battery enters a so called
deep discharge mode. This results in a longer charging time than usual. During the charging process the battery status indicator blinks
in orange.
If the battery has entered the deep discharge mode, it reports wrong capacity values to the operating system.
To gain full capacity again, the battery needs to complete several charging cycles (approximately five).
Fujitsu recommends the following "Recovery" procedure to restore full battery capacity, which can be performed during regular
notebook use:
o first, under Windows 7 "Control Panel" the following settings must be selected within "Power Options":
under the currently used power plan please click on "Change plan settings"
click on "Change advanced power settings"
if available, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
in the list under "Battery" select:

use the system in battery mode (disconnect power cable/adapter) and ignore all battery notifications until it enters Hibernation
mode automatically
connect the power cable/adapter and turn on the system again (waking it up from Hibernation)
charge the system until the battery information in the taskbar shows "Fully charged (100%)" and the battery status indicator
changes from orange to blue
repeat this procedure at least four more times

Now the battery charging time and battery runtime should be back to usual values and the operating system should show correct
capacity values.
Additional information:
Both battery issues do not constitute hardware failures of the system or the battery, and they can be fixed by the user following the
procedure mentioned above.
Furthermore, the battery does not have to be replaced in these cases.
