Organizational background
The World Food Programme activities include food assistance for nutrition, livelihoods, relief and emergency school feeding,
while also supporting humanitarian air and logistics services, food security coordination and infrastructure rehabilitation
projects, also based on an official request from the Government of Egypt, WFP is providing food assistance to Syrian
refugees residing in the greater Cairo area, Alexandria and Damietta through a voucher programme. This position is open to
qualified Egyptian candidates.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, and Under the direct supervision of the Head of Budget & Programming Unit,
the incumbent will :
Manage pipeline status on a daily basis, ensuring and maintain the accuracy of information contained in the pipeline
reports and tools.
Provide analysis and reports on all projects commodity shortfalls/breaks and formulate recommendation on resource
allocation for commodity call-forward.
Provide advice on commodity reallocation through Loans and Repayments mechanism and maintain the records.
Ensure the information on the specific SI, quantity and repayment dates are passed to the different and relevant
sections within Logistics and Programme.
Prepare and submit the Monthly Pipeline Reports for CDs approval for follow-on dispatch to the Regional Bureau
Ensure that Pipeline report provides the most accurate data concerning food commodities or cash (for C&V)
availability, planned and actual distribution particulars as well as beneficiary details at any given time.
Be able to separately record and track in the Pipeline report food commodities funded by various donors with
particular attention to the largest donors to the operation.
Be able to extract relevant data from the Pipeline report in order to prepare various related reports and presentations
as well to assist management in preparation of such reports and presentations (monthly summary of distributions
against the plan, etc.).
Prepare monthly summary report using the pipeline data on the commodity and cash movements, compare the
achievements against the plan and analyze each months achievements compared to the previous month.
Provide commodity pipeline related inputs to the corporate documents that CO must submit regularly and also for
various reports and briefs both mandatory and ad-hoc as required by the COs management.
Analyze and prepare projections for food commodities to ensure timely call-forward (including local procurement)
and availability of food in-country.
Using updated and accurate pipeline reports, prepare and submit Funding Proposals, Assignment Plans for CP project
in Egypt Country Office. Ensure accuracy of data and information in each of the document submitted.

In coordination with the Operation, Procurement and Logistics, review the Pipeline Situation and Prepare
recommendations for the Supply-Chain & Pipeline Meetings.
Coordinate with CO Procurement unit to keep track on the delivery of the consignments as per PO specifications.
Generate from WINGS the project, resource and grant management data and reports (TOD/TDD, grant balances,
expenditures, resource transfer, project management reports etc.) and provide further analysis.
Perform any other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

Secondary school education, preferably supplemented by courses in a field related to WFP


logistics/transport activities.

Experience:

At least six years of experience in one or more of the transportation and ancillary sectors: port
operations, shipping, clearing and forwarding, air operations, large scale road/rail transport and
distribution management. At least one year at G5 level or equivalent.

Language:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in
the duty stations language, if different.

Desirable
Working knowledge (level C) of two of the UN official languages; training and/or experience using
skills/experience: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and other WFP software.
