Re: Anik Fontaine

Anik was a student in two of my University of Alberta Language Arts classes for the year of 2015-2016.
Anik was a self starter, and possessed a solid sense of team work vs. individual application to all activities and tasks
in class. I see Anik as being an exceptionally strong teacher, in that her sense of humour, work ethic, and no
nonsense approach would work very effectively in middle school settings.
Our buddy project brought out the joy in Aniks demeanor. She happened to have a buddy with a similar name, and
due to Aniks responses, and guidance as a mentor, brought out qualities in this other young lady not before
witnessed. The school administrators were very impressed with Aniks positive, easy going, yet kind guide from the
side disposition.
I was consistently impressed with Aniks professional attitude toward all her tasks and concerns. When she had a
private concern, she came into the meeting having done her homework, yet also came with an open heart and mind
toward what she would hear. She valued the input, and responded professionally and responsibly certainly with
finesse beyond her years! Anik exhibited the same attitude and behaviors when working with her classmates. She
consistently stayed focussed on the task at hand, not only setting the example for others, but did so by gentle
reminders accompanied by a smile.
Anik loves to laugh, and enjoys the outdoors and adventure. What a great asset to have in a school for our active
students today. I would not hesitate to have Anik on my staff whatsoever.

Kind Regards,
Barb Hanson
